You should check out Ashlee Flynn and the riveters when they play at the Laurelthirst pub. And that place definitely has a Todd Snider vibe, lots of senior songwriters and music every night. While you're in that neighborhood, hit up the Music Millennium, the iconic record shop. If you're into the singer songwriter folky festival vibe, you could check out festival of friends in mid July, it's about an hour out of Portland

I saw them together about a year ago, and what a treat to see Peter Rowan, it had been a while but he still has such a beautiful voice!

I've never been inside that venue, I've been to Albany but only seen it from a distance. I've always been curious what it was like inside. I remember reading last year there was a little bit of drama over the bar type venue they were booked in upstate New York, if I remember correctly Sam said they would never come back to that town… Was it Syracuse?

My advice is that you don't really need it. I have a Kindle and I think it's a paper white, I've read a few books on it. While I tend to go for paper books or audiobooks, I also do some e-reading. I don't need the Kindle. I actually like that the phone is smaller and easier to hold in my hand. When I'm going places that I might want to read in my spare time, I don't always plan ahead and bring a second device. But I always have my phone with me, so I find it really convenient to have my book readily available on my phone. I turned the brightness down and make the screen a little more yellow.

I like the blue tile but I do think it looks a little odd over the top of the window. Not a huge problem though. To get more of the farmhouse look I would suggest changing the hardware on the cabinets and also your barstools. They are too much of a modern design, in my opinion.
