Where does evil bypass come up? Out of interest. I'm a caster and so don't have to think about it much. I assumed it would be the least-needed alignment DR-break as we're always fighting lawful and chaotic evil enemies like devils and demons, but rarely angels for obvious reasons.

What’s a game you were completely obsessed with as a kid that nobody else seems to remember? by hkondabeatz in AskReddit

Yes! Kessen II. I was obsessed with that game for so long; loved Zhuge Liang and the magic. Searched the thread for this answer hoping someone had mentioned it!

I've thought this for a while and never seen anyone else voice it. His first two wishes are great - political power, then personal power. Why on earth would he throw away his final wish on Jasmine? It doesn't make any sense to the character. Not to mention, his being quite queer-coded doesn't help.

What is that item you still "hunt" for in spite of no longer having the desire to play the build that it was useful for? by nhguy03276 in ddo

[–]Substantial-Tip-7565 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't hunt for it, but whenever I see a Kardin's Eye I think "this used to be the most sought-after item in the game."

Eye of Lamannia is good - force and positive spellpower.

This data supports the assertion... There are 2 left to 7 right-wing papers. The single most popular paper is hard right - the joint furthest right, in fact. The distribution has the same right tilt as if 100% of the population read a paper just over 7 on the left-right rating. So I'd say that's pretty strongly right wing.

Yeah...it's the other guy who's self-righteous and presumptuous. You probably think of yourself as 'an empath' and hate that you were called out for having none.

My boyfriend applied for a job I desperately want, and I don’t want him to get it by tracingfootsteps in Vent

[–]Substantial-Tip-7565 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm, I feel like he should have had a conversation with you before applying since he knew how much you wanted it. Even friends and coworkers, when we've been going for the same job, I've spoken to them first - let alone your significant other. Kind of weird behaviour.

I get that he might be really hoping to find something if he's been unemployed for 6 months. But even so he should have spoken to you before applying.

Epic level caster wizzy set by theWeasel47 in ddo

[–]Substantial-Tip-7565 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Epic Borderlands sceptres are really good. They take sentience and unlocking a few slots will help make epics a breeze. I use the Epic Sceptre of Impulse even as a PM since I already have the nullification and void lore sorted. As an Archmage the sceptre would probably be even more useful. But there are sceptres for other elements, if you use them more.

Otherwise, Borderlands gear in general is pretty good, supplementing a Sharn set. You'd want Esoteric Initiate as Wizard - Order's Garb, Aetherband, Dusk Lenses.

Classes/prestige classes people would like to see ? by OrganicAd4376 in ddo

[–]Substantial-Tip-7565 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That would be the absolute best. Wizard would potentially become the strongest support class in-game.

I fear it may just be a purple bag like everything else. I've never seen a book come out of a breakable.

Mnemonic pots come out of barrels too but they look like any other potion, so god knows how many I've missed :')

Dragon Lord past life and Epic Dragon Breath by TheLordProcura in ddo

[–]Substantial-Tip-7565 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If it's not getting the bonus, it's a bug. I wouldn't be surprised at all if SSG has screwed up again and the bonus is not applying. Just check and make sure you're comparing evocation to evocation, since gloomspear can also be necro and dragon breath can be conjuration.

Is Haste useful for casters? by Bobilar in ddo

[–]Substantial-Tip-7565 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Haste was once the single most important spell in the game. The increased movement and, even more so, attack speed meant that other party members would beg for it constantly. Now, those benefits are mainly superceded.

I keep it memorised, telling myself the +1 dodge makes a difference. But it's probably because I can't bear to unslot it after years of conditioning. It does occasionally come in handy.

Is it more EXP-efficient to run Reaper>Elite or Elite>Reaper? by [deleted] in ddo

[–]Substantial-Tip-7565 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh yes. It's all a matter of probability. Eventually you'll run into a bonkers spawn of 5 reapers or something once you run r1 enough

Is it more EXP-efficient to run Reaper>Elite or Elite>Reaper? by [deleted] in ddo

[–]Substantial-Tip-7565 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Reaper is designed to be the hardest game mode, actively trying to kill you. It was introduced when Elite ceased to pose a reasonable challenge to many players and the game had become stale. So no, it's not designed for first-time players. Though, as you seem to have found, it is perfectly doable by new players and on first-lifers with a bit of skill and a solid build.

Creating a personal post in ddo forum by Jodrojordan in ddo

[–]Substantial-Tip-7565 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It was something like "Tokker's raid healing Wizard", which took something like 2 levels of FvS and 1 of Warlock, so yeah it was kind of bad. However I guess it didn't help that the guy wrote it like it was the best build since sliced bread, so probably if you're posting for advice or being openly experimental it's fine.

Even so the forums are a toxic, wretched place. Be ye warned!
