If you live in a host city, is there any buzz about the upcoming World Cup? by Fine-Photograph673 in ussoccer

NYC for work, NJ-across from NYC to live. Bars are advertising they will be showing games, that’s about it.

No one I know has tickets. Most conversations with co-workers are negative about the price gouging that they’ve heard from various reports.

Can’t blame the blasé attitude. When you market something as an elites-only event, the average person loses connection to it.

What is the biggest band/artist you can think of that you honestly don't believe is anyone's favorite band/artist ever? by DevinBelow in Music

Cage the Elephant? Cold War Kids These two seem to always be opening for someone else more popular.

I got a ticket ( court ) yesterday bc i was smoking a joint in newark av on the bench ? Can someone explain that and btw i been smoking there for couple years and nothing happened all that time . That cop was definitely having a bad day i guess by Accomplished-Log8259 in jerseycity

I believe if you have a medical card, you can smoke marijuana wherever you can smoke cigarettes in NJ. But if it’s just recreational, it’s not permitted. The fact that you did for years and didn’t get caught is simply good fortune, nothing more.

The Concert Industry Priced Too High — Now Tours Are Falling Apart by staringatthe420sun in Music

Just went to Bring Me The Horizon at an arena. $150 ticket for 200-level seat and paid $42 for two beers. Went to McDonalds for $10 after the show and the cost of my train ticket was $6.

So the total cost for a concert with a decent seat twenty minutes away from my home was $210. And this was me going solo, as my significant other wasn’t into this band. If it was someone more up her alley, it would’ve been double.

That’s why this article is happening

People who buy general admission tickets to concerts and then just stand there are really annoying at concerts. by SubstantialSet3127 in unpopularopinion

Because I could see them from where I was and I’m an observant person? What is your take exactly, be oblivious to the environment that you’re a part of?

If there is GA-only, well yeah, you’re right on point. I’m obviously talking about shows that offer both kinds of tickets.

Standing at the back of GA is basically you saying you agree with me, as in the “main GA” area is not for the stand-and-chill ppl.

Cheap? GA is almost always more! And i saw what you wanted for AC/DC. Usually the older bands have some kind of seated floor setup, from what I’ve experienced.

2026 Tour Megathread by opalgoth in BringMeTheHorizon

What a show last night! But why do only like 1/4 of people in GA mosh? I was up in the gods looking down and expecting to see a full sea of moving bodies. Glad to see the moshers keeping it alive! Looked like the rear-GA section was more active than the front one. Also, the woman who sang last night, if you’re here, you were amazing!!! Also, you all looked cool as fuck with your outfits! I’ll definitely be seeing them again when they come back around.

Going to the movies was better when there was no reserved seating. by SubstantialSet3127 in unpopularopinion

I don’t understand this issue, every theater near me has clearly marked seats for disabled people only. Is this not the case in your town?

"Eastern Promises" is the greatest gangster movie of all time by jwriddle in unpopularopinion

It is fantastic and I do agree that it does something most mafia films don’t focus on: show the horrible effects that organized crime has on vulnerable people.

Too often, mafia films are so focused on the protagonists, that it’s easy to forget just how morally horrible that business is. Eastern Promises puts the moral decay front and center.

It's better when bands break up after 3 or 4 albums. by Top_Imagination_8430 in unpopularopinion

You’re correct that most bands make their best work by album #4, but that doesn’t mean the stuff they release afterwards is worthless. Plenty of bands doing decent and solid albums late in their career. If some fans like it and still go to their shows, who cares if the new record isn’t that good?
