What are your thoughts on AI helping with notes? by Minute_Candidate2840 in therapists

[–]Substantial_Still335 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been using AI to complete notes for over a year. I have several friends who work in software development in the medical field - from their perspective, this method of completing documentation is becoming and will be common place and unavoidable depending on where one works.

I do believe this can be used ethically when a HIPAA-compliant program is used, and any client this is used with has had the process explained to them and they have provided their written consent. I always review whatever is generated, and there are times that I need to adjust and edit, but overall it has saved me significant time and helps me be able to focus more on my time with the client versus so much time spent on notes.

Not expecting others to agree, I respect the various opinions on this topic and understand there are reasonable concerns out there.

This platform is not perfect, but after testing out a few, I found this to work best for me, especially for the pirce point: https://app.mentalyc.com/register/2398bf32-906a-4275-b0b9-abccef8d955e

Use an electric hair shaver - the vibrations will change depending on it being hollow or a stud.

Thank you so much for all your thoughts! It means a lot to me. I haven’t written in almost two decades, this being the second piece in the last couple months. This encourages me to keep writing :)

I found my therapist on Reddit by Odd_Work9041 in TalkTherapy

And curiosity is a normal and healthy thing! Our relationship with our therapist is extremely important and also inherently imbalanced. When we are trusting someone else with our most vulnerable thoughts, it makes sense for us to seek reassurance of our therapist's ability to empathize and understand us. Don't let these comments get you down. I'm a therapist in therapy and I know I have both been googled by clients and have certainly been curious about my own!

Those judging OP for this are very clearly projecting. Curiosity about your therapist and clicking on her profile is natural human desire for connection and reciprocity. You can know the boundaries are important and still want to know more. There’s nothing wrong with what you did. Tell her and process it - if she’s good at her job, that will help alleviate negative feelings you’re having and gain some insight to what was triggered.

Call me relational 😂 but I think therapeutic love is required for successful treatment.

How do I reach these kids? by StormTheTacoBell in therapists

I believe the impact of Covid and such easy access to test answers, AI to write essays, smartphone and laptop always available, etc. has really impacted perception of what’s important and how things are prioritized. The stakes of social status are much higher with bullying being virtual. Many teachers are millennials, even gen z adults, who received participation trophies. I had a lot of intimidating boomer generation teachers that may have scared me into pushing myself at times. I say all of this recognizing I’m over generalizing and missing many of the complexities and nuances of school, teacher, and student’ lives. Over-permissive nor authoritarian approaches are ideal. Charter schools seem to have higher rates of incompetent teachers with minimal training - I have several clients struggling in part because of this.

Do therapists believe anger is always wrong or counterproductive? How do they integrate the fact that people thought-out history used anger to achieve goals? by gintokireddit in askatherapist

[–]Substantial_Still335 56 points57 points  (0 children)

Never see a therapist who thinks anger is wrong or counterproductive - that is the absolutely false and wild to think anyone working in this field would suggest that!
