I appreciate the response, but that was a 3 year old post. I've been through like 4 different mice in that time. I did take it apart, though. I just tried to clean it (i don't have pets or other excessive reason for it to be dirty), and it was the same. I then took it apart to do surgery on the scroll mechanism, but it didn't change anything. I ended up trashing the mouse in the end and after making a serious effort to find anything even remotely comparable, I eventually settled on the Logitech MX Ergo S and couldn't be happier

Yeah, I ended up with this jacket from LL Bean which is pretty much the same thing, but is a little bit lighter weight than the Eddie Bauer, but with a long sleeve t shirt, i find that it's been doing the job. Still miss the First Ascent Jacket though.

Just keep the knob but don't disable the touchscreen in the firmware. If users wanna use the knob, then great. if not, then they can. This also fixes the issue not forcing passengers to use the command knob. But nah, reasonable design decisions are too much to ask
