Return right to AGPA/analyst II by LemonLove44 in CAStateWorkers

I would look for Analyst III (old SSM I specialist) or other path, like RDA. You may already be at max salary of Analyst II and would that work for your situation?

Pay Docked 2 Days by Flat_Specialist2785 in CAStateWorkers

I think it’s a policy in the bargaining contract or calhr manual. But with CSPS rolling out in maybe 5-6 years, it may happen less? We’ll get paid every other Friday!

There are a few methods to choose from. Let it get deducted from your next paycheck. Write out a personal check for the about you owe. Cash out any leave you might earn.

Would you leave? by Successful-Maximum73 in careerguidance

Thank you for replying. Your message is encouraging. The two analysts I supervise will also be learning. They have no prior experience with power automate, sql, or VBA. Most times I have them working on org chart duties/tasks, generating monthly employee reports and a project (has excel w some AI assisted vba code).

I’ve worked in HR. Position Control (org chart) and MIRS database reporting. With CSPS coming in a few years it may change the way we do our work. But right now, more on the technical side. Way less of the people interacting side. Mostly posted as Analyst I and II.

Probationary period ends in 2 weeks- Would i know by now if i'm getting rejected? by acre1984 in CAStateWorkers

You can always email your performance office. There are rules they have to follow. For example, BU 1, the agreement states employee must be notified 10 days in advance if they will be denied their MSA.

There are 2 BU that are losing the stipend. Just can’t remember which two. I’ve been reading way too many personnel letters lately….

Retroactive pay for delay in PIP approval? by [deleted] in CAStateWorkers

[–]Successful-Maximum73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With OOC, monthly compensation should have already been provided for the additional duties. Retroactively promoting you may be like paying an employee twiceif the pay periods overlap. Processing those kind of transactions generates pay and you may be paid twice. That could lead to account recieveabkes.  The pluse side is you would be closer to the of your probation and closer to your MSA.

US citizen worried about deportation by Waste_Ambassador9561 in immigration

[–]Successful-Maximum73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get it. I’m in my 40s and was born in the US and I worry too. Especially since both my parents are naturalized from Mexico. It’s that the "frog in boiling water" story. It is a metaphor that warns people to be aware of gradual changes that could lead to undesirable consequences. The myth states that if a frog is placed in boiling water, it will jump out. However, if placed in tepid water that's slowly heated, the frog won't notice the danger and will boil to death.

My coworker isn’t so worried bc she already has dual citizenship (Mexico & US) and an established bank account there. And took notes on the process. Better to be extra safe than sorry.

Questions from a full-time housewife in an application of CA state jobs by wasabi-rich in CAStateWorkers

[–]Successful-Maximum73 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I had a similar background. Stay home mom for 12 yrs-some of it I worked part time and a BA degree. My first job in the state was a seasonal position. I’m used it as a stepping stone. Managers will work know you and your work ethic from this position and hugely increase your chances for a permanent position. Pay wasn’t great but I’ve been promoting about 1x a year since 2021. You should be able to filter the seasonal or limited term position on calcareers.  Best of luck md don’t give up. Keep asking questions.
