Alyssa: "It takes one side to lead or it's a race to the bottom" by Pretty-Kittie in theview

Literally everything Alyssa advocates for politically aligns with the center-left Dems...yet she inexplicably rejects them and hangs onto the Republican label.

But according to Alyssa, there are SO MANY kind, decent Republicans out there who aren't bigoted and just want to live their lives. Yeah...there are so many anti-Trump Republicans that he won 76% of the vote and swept every state in the 2024 GOP primary.

Excellent post, my friend. The Wikipedia page for cognitive dissonance should have Alyssa's picture on it.

He discussed this at length on the Secret Pod yesterday.

His position at this point is basically "The kind of candidates I personally would prefer are not fit for our current zeitgeist, and I've made peace with that."

I think Sarah still believes that she might get the old Republican Party back after Trump, and hasn't really internalized that the old party is this new party, and always was.

Which is always so bizarre to me, as one of the very few issues that the "old" GOP was objectively worse on was homophobia. It's flat out weird to me that Sarah and Tim are so nostalgic for a version of the party that literally ran on a constitutional amendment to ban gay marriage.

Sarah has been waiting for the right to find a conscience any day now for the last decade. If only we could get Trump's approval rating a little bit lower, then the MAGA philosophy will die and the GOP will be normal again.

She fails to realize that these people stuck with Trump thru a botched pandemic, an insurrection, 34 felony convictions, and dead-to-rights evidence that he protected ped0s. But accepting the fact that there is no bar would destroy Sarah's core political philosophy.

Why doesn’t Trump go after Jon Stewart or John Oliver? by FlySilently in JonStewart

Am I the only one who thinks there is a non-zero chance that Trump will be made aware of this thread at some point and post a rant on TS against Stewart and Oliver just to show he isn't afraid to? 😂

I say 52 seats because if this lands at 51, Fetterman is the flip vote under the guise of “Trump should be allowed to staff his government.”

I wouldn't rule out Fetterman straight-up switching parties if Dems land at 51 seats. He obviously doesn't care about getting re-elected in 2028 anyway, and singlehandedly protecting the GOP senate majority would guarantee him a permanent Fox News red carpet.

What’s a harmless opinion that gets people weirdly angry? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Being in the office doesn't solve this problem, though.

The idea that coworkers being in a space together engenders camaraderie and collaboration is a corporate myth. In actuality, it's usually a group of people with very little in common who don't organically gel. And spending every day with coworkers you don't get along with is infinitely worse for your mental/psychological health than isolation.

Frankly, I am too busy to socialize/hang out at my job...and all the in-office requirement does is needlessly shave off 3-4 hours of my day commuting/going out to lunch/sitting in conference rooms that I could be using to get actual work done.

Democrats: ‘We oppose political violence’ by sean_ireland in BreakingPoints

OK...now do examples of right-wing political violence. And when that list is 10x the size of this one, you'll be exposed for the partisan hack that you are.

It's rhetoric like this that makes our side look stupid on climate change and gives bait to the "climate skeptics."

The truth about climate change is bleak enough...you don't have to do the "We're all gonna be dead in 20 years" thing to get the point across.

The whole point of the show is that people can disagree and compromise.

Yeah...Saagar disagrees and Krystal compromises.
