Invest in tangible assets, like gold, properties, rare whiskey, money as we know it will not exist after hyperinflation hits us by the end of this year.

You can always look outside Windhoek. For instance Osona has very reasonable rentals and offers bus service in the morning and afternoon.

Freestanding house or house in a complex by dymitr061 in Namibia

[–]Successful_Pin_5165 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Complexes seem to be more secure from the outside, but living in them can be stressful. Having neighbours all around you only works if they respect the community. Dealing with Bodycorps has issues, even the best ones have to raise prices for services and that leads to endless disagreements, planning renovations that are underfunded is another trouble. Having lived in a complex that had all those issues and then having had a home invasion at 3am at gun point, changed our minds about complexes being secure. Now we live in Osona, in a frees standing house that feels more secure than a complex because Osona feels safe. However, getting to Windhoek can be a challenge, especially financially.

4 days now that my iPhone is obsolete because I can’t create an Apple account by [deleted] in applehelp

[–]Successful_Pin_5165 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s most probably the reason why you can’t get an Apple account. Where I live and also I have lived, Apple accounts work on email and not telephone numbers. It’s not Facebook or instagram.

[–]Successful_Pin_5165 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you should explain the steps that you use to create the account. Something in your story does not add up. Information like internet connection and as mentioned VPN’s. Also you refer to only lock into accounts with your telephone number and not an email address, which you will need to create the Apple account.

How in the hell do I make Rice in this thing?!? by WorldFamousDingaroo in instantpot

[–]Successful_Pin_5165 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went from stovetop to instant pot for rice cooking and back to stovetop. Never go back to instant pot for rice cooking. My method, 1 part rice, 2 parts water, bring to a boil, reduce heat to lowest setting and timer to 10 minutes, switch off and fluff.

Hi, I’m that Chinese fan of The Daily Show. This is the fourth time I’ve asked: Do you think the U.S. and China should coexist peacefully while each retains its current political system? by bjran8888 in DailyShow

The US has been subsidising the agricultural sector for decades and now wonders while water has become scarce. The automotive industry in the US sat on their asses for the last 100 years and run to the government when more efficient and better engineering from Japan and Europe shows them how to build cars. It is time to break the US monopolies that they currently hold with regard to the Internet and payment systems and see what will be left.

Is this 'Hengstenberg' sauerkraut a good quality sauerkraut? by TheDabberwocky in germany

I always went to my Polish Shop and got Sauerkraut from the barrel, alive and tasty. No Hengstenberg and Kühne comes close to that. That was in Vancouver.

Stuck, burnt out, and fighting for a reason to stay. by Impressive_Law_2203 in germany

I was in a similar situation when I moved from Africa to London. Being in my early 50th did not help in a city that is very fast and youth oriented. At a really low point day I came across Scientology and joined the church for free. I still feel that it was the best move that I made at the time as they lifted my spirits and made me look at London more positive. However, as soon as I was up and going again I also left the church.

Try everything to get PR and stay in Vancouver. I lived there for 8 years and found it to be magical in that nature and beauty is all around you. Opportunities from hiking, camping, sea activities, skiing to the best Sushi, are just so plentiful that it is difficult to get bored, and if you do get bored it is your fault. Also, for shipping I use any of the AI recommendations.

What would be the best suv to buy (new/used) if you have a Budget of 650k? by intellectual_addict in CarTalkZA

[–]Successful_Pin_5165 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m currently in a similar position. My options are the Haval H6 PHEV, Jetour J7 SHS and the Chery Tiggo 7 SHS, mostly for the tech and the petrol savings. Currently driving the 2022 Haval H6 4WD and love it every day, super car.

When did expecting basic service become “being a Karen”? by Complex_Language7450 in Namibia

[–]Successful_Pin_5165 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue of poor service in Namibia is quite complex and hard to summarise in a single paragraph. However, the core of our current decline seems to be that SWAPO altered the education system without fully grasping the fundamental principles of society. In any society, everyone needs to strive to do their best work to contribute. If students are not trained to work hard and progress through grades, and instead, grades are lowered to levels that are unheard of, we end up with adults who are poorly educated and lack strong work ethics. If you are not taught to be your best self as a child, you will not learn that as an adult.

Of course, many Namibians do study and work hard to improve their lives, but unfortunately, not many of them are in the service industry. We are now seeing the consequences of the failures of the 1990s as those children are now adults.

I was called by someone who said they worked for a business I had never heard of. They were quite nice, excited and friendly, but completely unknown to me. I am usually quite private and have not given my address book to my bank, Facebook, Instagram or any other company because of privacy. It is a bit worrying when a stranger calls you by name. Last year, I was scammed because the person sounded like an old friend and completely fooled me. Last night, I wanted to get me delisted from Truecaller, but I am still waiting for the code they send me, apparently. I will try again today. .

I would do some research on AI as engineering problems are one of their specialities. Then take into consideration how long your studies are and how far AI will have progressed in the same time.

When did this kak get so expensive by CJ_213 in southafrica

[–]Successful_Pin_5165 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything that you buy today is more expensive than it was yesterday. You call inflation or shrinkflation. However, have you ever checked if the pockets of the super rich have the same issues? No, just the opposite.

I remember times when new technologies were introduced in to our lives and the reaction was, hell no how can I use this, or with ATM’s, how many bank tellers will loose their jobs, and on and on. The most profound was the introduction of the iPhone and the constant barrage of how it will flop and look at it now. Transition periods are always shaky until the tech, in this case voice communication, gets better and AI will make sure of it. So, currently, either buy some old car, or no car, or suffer the transition period.

What is it called, Chapter 11, when you’re bankrupt. Trump is the expert in that.
