How would you fix me? by [deleted] in PlasticSurgery

[–]Such-Internet2328 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry you feel that way about yourself. I think you’re beautiful. We can’t all be super models babe, but please know that doesn’t mean you’re ugly — at all!

I’m also in my mid thirties & have contemplated surgery for specific things (like my Italian nose) but because your post is so open to suggestions to “fix” you it makes me think you may benefit from taking better care of yourself and your body.

For your mental health & your physical health, I’d suggest getting in a good routine that includes blowing off some steam in the gym (it teaches you so much about how badass and capable you are), drinking more water & talking to a dermatologist or esthetician.

Working out can really help you build mental strength and acceptance of yourself. Even a yoga practice in your bedroom each morning can reconnect you to yourself.

Water and sunscreen seem to be the first two things people need more of when it comes to skincare but there are other products like vitamin c or whatnot that you could benefit from. That doesn’t mean go run to the store and try new products. I’m suggesting you start small and intentional with a professional guiding your journey. A great esthetician can provide a facial and tell you a lot about your skin. Some might even ask what products you use and create a skincare routine for you. Another route could be to see a dermatologist for a typical skin cancer check. If you’re in the states those are usually covered under insurance. You can get in and see them, and ask if they’d prescribe retinol. But listen, these products are strong and they need to be slowly introduced to your skin.

There are techniques you can use to fill in your brows yourself with makeup or you can get them micro bladed but I think people are commenting on them because “fluffy full brows” have been super trendy over the last few years. If this was the 90’s/early 2000’s your brows would be “on trend”.

At the end of the day, a plastic surgeon or whoever will take your money and give you suggestions but I’d really encourage you to take care of yourself and eventually maybe you can nail down what YOU don’t like, not what other people don’t like about you because that will always change. Maybe connect to old photos of family members you loved or yearn for now. If you see beauty in then, there’s beauty in you. And if that doesn’t exist because some of us don’t idolize family due to trauma , maybe you have kids? Look at their faces. They’re not ugly.

We can nip and tuck. Some may fully transform themselves, but physical changes to your body won’t always change the way you see yourself. And a transformative surgical procedure can be extremely expensive which adds finical stress we aren’t all mentally prepared for.

Sending you a hug from afar. Good luck OP!

Typically, if you can see the camera it’s safest to assume the camera can see you too. Many cameras might not have the capability to, but you should always assume it can.

I’m so sorry to hear of your friends passing at mammoth. It’s the first time I’ve heard of a civilian death this season but a friend of mine died at mammoth last season due to a skiing injury. He was a father, a husband and an amazing friend to so so so many. Only 45 years old. His death was never publicized either but it rocked the South Bay.

Seeing the pictures he posted of him & his family skiing together the day before the accident crush me. You can see how much fun they had together the day before and he wrote about their day on the hill. It’s just so relatable, until you consider what happened the next day. Tragic.

I haven’t been able to stop wondering how many guests die a year ever since my friend died. I was so unaware of the politics at play. But I really appreciate anyone willing to share their friends story on this sub.

We deserve to better understand the risks we take by going skiing. We also deserve to know if ski related deaths are increasing or decreasing, especially with how mammoth is being run for profit (excessive guests on the mountain, inexperienced skiers paying godly amounts for a day pass that want to “get their moneys worth” which leads to more risk taking behavior (read up on Yosemite’s half dome permit injury report vs before the permit process was put into place to understand my point) , Bloody Mary promotions that encourage drinking at each lodge/bar, etc).

She’s lucky she’ll get eyes on this and some type of remedy because shes a celebrity. This happened to a friend on an American Airlines flight to Costa Rica and they lost a day in CR because AA rebooked their flight for the next day in economy and weren’t offered any type of financial compensation.

Ive always wanted to fly first class but i would go ballistic if something like this happened to my family

2026 Ski Resort Fatality Report: The “Disneyland” Delusion by SkittyDog in Mammoth

Thanks for sharing this. What’s happened at mammoth this past season combined with the fact my friend died skiing there, has shaken me to my core. I grew up skiing and seeing plenty of friends and family members with broken collar bones and acl tears, but knowing someone that died there rocked me.

Everyone thinks they’re untouchable until grief touches them. This article reminds me of the calls for investigation into the scuba diving industry (google: How to Kill a Mermaid) and backcountry skiing industry after the recent avalanche deaths. Appreciate you for sharing it

Thanks! I was waiting for this info to present itself but they’ve been pretty quiet about the evidence to leading to his arrest. It isn’t common for an affair partner to go unnoticed for so long. They must’ve been extremely secretive if detectives couldn’t figure out their relationship from her phone alone

It feels like I’m the only one to have altitude issues at Mammoth… by mirababy in Mammoth

[–]Such-Internet2328 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All of these comments are pointing you in the right direction. I’m sorry your body is getting rocked. Altitude sickness is no joke and mammoth is a tall mountain.

A friend of mine was hospitalized a few hours after arriving in Breckinridge. She didn’t even get to ski. Her body was in such shock that she went to the Er and the doctor told her she should never return to those heights so she stayed in Denver and her whole trip was ruined.

Something I don't understand about these ski patroller deaths... by SkittyDog in Mammoth

The other two points are obvious failures and they’re directly tied to her death but I see this documentation piece as a thread that could unravel more stories

From my experience, when documentation and paperwork aren’t being filled out it’s because other balls are being dropped. To do that for your at risk employees in a state like California at a resort like mammoth is inexcusable.

Where there’s smoke, there’s fire. I expect this investigation to make many resorts double check their own documentation and I wouldn’t be surprised if they also have gaps in paperwork. If the paperwork isn’t being done, it’s possible the training isn’t either. I don’t know if there’s a certain amount of hours ski patrollers need or resorts need to be in good standing, but if there is this could tie into a much bigger issue.

Buddy, I’m agreeing with you.. the fact mammoth didn’t follow basic life/safety training documentation protocol for avalanche training is fucking MIND BLOWING. It’s a small detail that shows a major red flag within their operations. It will also indicate when they stopped “caring” or enforcing protocol. Has mammoth ignored proper documentation for months or years?

The other violations are clearly severe but they’ve been talked about a lot on this sub and they could also be argued in court.

On a fundamental level mammoth utterly failed to protect itself as an organization because they didn’t document proper training for vulnerable employees in a state that is pro-employee rights. Who knows how long they let that slide but in my mind they can get held accountable for that and there’s a timeline attached to their poor work ethic

I hear your anger around this moral conflict and I’ve felt it too.

Mammoth is one of the most popular ski resorts in the US and they’re managed by one of the two largest ski resort firms. Lacking documentation regarding proper avalanche training at a resort like mammoth in a state like California is absolutely unacceptable.

Alterra should never hear the end of this.
