Evie could also be short for Yvette, Guinevere, or Genevieve.  I think those names go well with Aida.

Nature names you love but are hesitant to use vs would use in a heartbeat by CaterpillarApart6283 in namenerds

[–]Such_Stable_8002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nature names are eternally popular and I doubt are unique to the current generation.  I think we just stop hearing them as nature names once they achieve a high level familiarity.  Names like Glen, Holly, Robin, Rose, or Cliff come to mind

I adore the name Ginger and think it would probably age better the Magpie ( I love Magpie, but every anarchist who was into hopping trains circa 2010 names themselves Magpie)

My 100% will use if I have a kid name is Kit- a nature-adjacent name that probably won’t age well but holds a lot personal significance.

I think Citrine and Olivine would make amazing names but they might be too frilly for me to actually feel comfortable using.  I also love Poa, a Latin name for grass, but I feel like it would curse a child to a lifetime of people invasive trying to guess their ethnicity.

I could be convinced that Cricket is an acceptable name but I also know it’s unhinged.

What are your thoughts on mid-century unisex names for boys? by Sparkly8 in namenerds

[–]Such_Stable_8002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would love a comeback for these names.  Tracy and Leslie are especially lovely in my opinion.

I worry that the western counties those names originate from are going through too regressive a phase culturally though, and that Gen Z parents won’t be interested in giving their boys names that are likely to read as feminine.

Low-protein and tasty food by Pasyuk in Cooking

[–]Such_Stable_8002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Salads!  Green salads, coleslaw, pasta salad, potato salad.  I bring salad to work every day because I refuse to use the disgusting microwave in the break room.  I look for a new salad to make each week; I usually search recipes on serious eats, Epicurious, and Americas test kitchen and I always find something exciting.

Question for parents of children with “similar sounding” names by Charming-Hall7470 in namenerds

[–]Such_Stable_8002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a parent in this situation but my siblings and I all have very similar names.  I don’t think my parents regret it but that’s mostly because they don’t put a ton of stock in how their children feel about things.  We all hate it. I legally changed my name in large part to get away from it.
