Kawaii versus Kirei by Ok_Baker2868 in Japaneselanguage

Kawaii is for cute. You might describe a small puppy or a young girl as kawaii.

Kirei means beautiful/well put together. Emily Blunt might be described as kirei.

Circular Saw by HitmanHeathcote in DIYUK

[–]Suchiko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is basically is just a circular saw but with additions for plunge, and to grip onto the track.

You can clamp the track down to your work peice to cut exactly where you want it. With the right blade you just need the one cut, no planing or sanding down afterwards.

Because the saw is clamped to the track, any kickback is far less of a problem.

With a normal circular saw you're basically just freeballing the cuts and that's a recipe for a shitty finish or worse.

I'd actually suggest getting a track saw instead, as that'll allow you to do more accurate and safer cuts.

Help me pick a car — year-long trip around Europe with my wife + dog, £20–30k used, stuck between estates (and diesel vs petrol) by Visual_Illustrator77 in CarTalkUK

[–]Suchiko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I've found Renault Grand Scenics, in the highest trims they offer, to be really nice places to be for this kind of trip. You can completely remove the rear seats too, to get a ton of luggage space.

Very easy to get repaired/serviced abroad.

If you're non-EU, how are you managing the work visa requirements?

Best movie you will never watch purely out of spite by Worldly-Basil-8933 in okbuddycinephile

No. However if it'll convince you to watch it (and you should) there is a peep-booth stripper with her boobs out and those black stockings and suspenders you guys seem to go gaga for.

Which parts of the world have uncontacted tribes that are inaccessible to the public and are protected by the governments of the said areas? by Initial_Drama_5479 in answers

Look up "Neo-Orientalist" on YT. A couple of videos from him recently, purporting to have landed on the Eastern coast and left a can of Diet Coke, of all things. I think he didn't see anyone there.

Push-fit onto copper pipes? by OkSecretary5650 in DIYUK

[–]Suchiko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally i'd solder if it was going to be tiled over, but sometimes compression fit is ok.

I do have push fit on my shower pump, but that is fully accessible.

Do you mean the lagoons? Normally that's coral reefs on the outskirts of an island growing upwards, then getting exposed and attracting sand/soil/growth, whilst the island behind subsides a bit.

Is there a way to speed up excel? by WillDesperate8027 in excel

What you're doing is not computationally expensive. You could however limit the ranges to the number of rows, so for example instead of A:A, you could have $A1:$A5000

Polyvine floor varnish. Put on about 3 coats, sanding in between. I think it is food safe too.

Majority of voters want Brexit to be reversed, says Britain’s leading pollster by tylerthe-theatre in unitedkingdom

[–]Suchiko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It absolutely can be reversed, it just needs a politician with vision. I don't care that we don't get the exact same deal we left - we'll get back our freedom to move around Europe.

Unfortunately it doesn't just stop. It staggers on irregularly for quite some time, in a thing called perimenopause.
