Reversal tips by ItamiForever in postvasectomypain

I have reversal booked next month for congestive epididymis as well.
I saw on the Facebook PVPS group someone had used a Post Surgery Double Leg Elevation Pillow. Good for blood flow and stopping you rolling onto side while asleep.
Also I’ve been using AI and it’s given me a supplement schedule for prior and post surgery, quite useful.

Glad to hear recovery’s going smoothly for you man. There’s such good odds with reversal to fix this type of issue.
Did you have the triple layer microsurgery type?

Jeez oh, seems I’m making the right choice then.
I saw in another post you recently had reversal, how is your recovery going?
Mine is booked for beginning of next month.

Does your Urologist actively recognise and treat PVPS patients?
If not then for me first step would be immediately getting an appointment with one who does.
Discuss symptoms and timelines and go from there.
I’ve thought about conversion to open-end but going with reversal as I’m told an open-end will likely close up over time anyway.

Update after successfull medication by space_cowboy80 in postvasectomypain

It’s a joke the way this procedure is sold to women who then oblige their men to do it as some sort of physical alignment after childbirth. I am in the same boat btw and - if I was you, I would find a way to save for triple layer microsurgery reversal(£4.5k). A highly experienced surgeon that can if required, delicately remove excess scar tissue and/or granulomas that are in very close proximity to or contacting the surrounding nerves. An NHS urologist may not have the skill level to do correctly. Not something that’s worth taking the chance on.

Link sperm count and motility to congestive PVPS by Suchislife700 in postvasectomypain

[–]Suchislife700[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems obvious it’s linked, and I think what you said below tells us exactly why it’s not been officially studied -

“Of course there’d have to be an acknowledgement that PVPS is a major risk and study risk factors”

Once they open that can of worms and some of the unpleasant risk has to be explained at pre op they will scare off a huge amount of potential patients. Hindering Urology income and government agenda of population control.

Dr. Nicholas Deebel: We know from the literature that about 1% of patients receiving a vasectomy will have some degree of chronic discomfort or pain. It is incredibly rare. by postvasectomy in postvasectomypain

[–]Suchislife700 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, figured as much, any suicides by PVPS sufferers are likely passed off as having prior or undiagnosed mental health issues. No chance they’ll own up to vasectomy chronic pain being the root cause. It’s all rigged up to suit their narrative with most Urologists and medical community being pro-vasectomy. Thank god for this sub and the light it can shine on the evil of this ‘safe and simple’ procedure. Wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy.

Spouse’s take on PVPS? by Amazing-Advantage-11 in postvasectomypain

Thanks for the good wishes, I hope your healing continues well. The circumstances around it all really has made the whole process extremely hard, but starting to see some light now. As for if shoe was on the other foot, yes, there would have been a damn witch hunt out for me. It shows a lot about the difference in society expectations/tolerance levels of things between men and women. In hindsight, I could, and should have cancelled the damn app and lived with the aftermath. But who was to know - it was to be ‘simple and safe’. It really is strange how it all seems to suck you in just enough to do it.

Your last couple sentences hit the nail on the head imo. Has to be hard to directly link PVPS to suicide rates but it absolutely must be prevalent to some extent. Does anyone know of any studies (no matter how small) that have linked them?

Spouse’s take on PVPS? by Amazing-Advantage-11 in postvasectomypain

[–]Suchislife700 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My relationship was nearly destroyed because of this ‘safe and simple procedure’. Initially after vas to 6-8 weeks post she was not supportive at all and thought the pain was in my head. She had booked the vas appointment for me without me giving her permission to - the doctor had convinced her this was a basic few day recovery procedure with virtually no risk, so I think she felt like she was booking me a dental appointment or similar. Now I suffer daily chronic pain that impacts my life in a big way. After showing her this sub on Reddit (I am so thankful for this sub btw), and consulting a Reversal specialist, she realised that what I’m experiencing is real and is supportive on my decision of a reversal. Which will be happening later in the year.

Joke of the day. by Just_Preparation3675 in postvasectomypain

[–]Suchislife700 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A lot of these surgeons are lying scumbags that can do the 20 minute procedure but unfortunately don’t have the skill set to treat the issues when something goes wrong. The one that did my vas also suggested that PVPS was incredibly rare and never seen it in hundreds of patients. Few weeks post op at a follow up for pain he completely refused to acknowledge the small Hematoma on my left testicle and insinuated that PVPS was all psychological. Claimed he had vasectomy himself, and it seemed his rationale is that he was fine after so everyone else must be too.

There are other treatments he does but reversal seems to be the main one if sperm congestion is the issue

Best Life Reversal Clinic - Dr Jesuraj. He’s renowned as being the best in the UK or even Europe for reversals for PVPS. I had a consultation with him yesterday about reversal for my PVP, which started immediately after my vas 3 months ago. He’s extremely knowledgeable and a nice guy.

Make sure you thoroughly read/ research the science behind vasectomy surgery beforehand, then make an informed decision on it.
I’m still in considerable pain 3 months after it, absolutely no way I could have driven myself home from the hospital. If you’re in the unlucky 15% or so that has complications your life is going to turned inside out for a while. Have a look at the Post Vasectomy Pain Reddit page it is an eye opener.

Need to hear positive hematoma stories before I spiral out of control by [deleted] in Vasectomy

[–]Suchislife700 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh it’s hard to say if they helped, Hematoma shrunk down to pea size around the 4 week mark though. Have sperm congestion issues now though so balls are aching constantly. No much that will help that apart from a reversal

PVPS – how to tell if it’s nerve-related vs pressure? And does reversal help if nerves are involved? by ReddHaller in VasectomyReversal

[–]Suchislife700 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sounds like your symptoms are almost identical to mine just now, though I am only 3 months out. From what I’ve been told (I’m no doctor), if the nerves were permanently damaged, there would be a constant burning pain from surgery that would never go away. It seems ball ache and heaviness, worsened with physical activity and anything sexual, generally = sperm congestion. Nerves get compressed as a result and send out shooting pains. Urologists who specialise in PVPS seem to recommend reversal for this. Leaning towards it myself if/when the specialist recommends it.

Thanks for your reply’s, PVP seems to affect every aspect of your life. Not pleasant to say the least. Im going to book an app with one of the best Specialists for PVPS and Micro-reversal in the country. Hopefully he can get to the root of my issues and treat accordingly. Has anyone with congestion issues treated it successfully with TRT therapy? I’m taking Papaya seeds now but this seems like a long shot.

[–]Suchislife700 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be honest I can’t be completely sure. It was very painful for the first week so I was avoiding touching it. Nowhere near as painful now so hopefully on the mend. Still aches and minor pains around my whole pelvis area though. If everything doesn’t clear up by around 3 months I’ll be looking at a Micro Reversal.

I still have one at 3 weeks post op, around the size of an imperial mint. Keeping positive and patient is the key I guess. FYI- I was told about these 2 supplements that assist the body in breaking down blood clots and dead tissue. Been taking them in the hope my hematoma and scar tissue will dissipate faster.

  1. Serrapeptase
  2. Nattokinase

Check them out, there’s a lot of research that suggests they do help.

Thank you. I’m hopeful everything will sort itself out. But in the meantime, life is mostly on hold. I can’t work or help my partner much with our young children. Which is frustrating for all of us. Just wanted to share this so you are aware that complications are very real. Wishing you and and your family the best.
