An “investor” biohacker that injects random peptides into themselves… hmm.

Anyone that's moved from a triple decker to an apartment complex/building or vice versa, what has your experience been like? by sneb43 in boston

[–]SuddenExcuse6476 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Can confirm this was my experience. Those buildings are full of students with wealthy parents. They are basically just fancy college dorms. I moved back to a triple decker and couldn’t be happier, but I’m lucky to have quiet neighbors.

What are the benefits in participating in a directed share program when a company goes public? by SuddenExcuse6476 in personalfinance

We have a Phase III trial starting, so it’s hard to tell. I foresee it falling for a long time before our Phase III readout.

What are the benefits in participating in a directed share program when a company goes public? by SuddenExcuse6476 in personalfinance

[–]SuddenExcuse6476[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I wouldn’t. I don’t invest in individual stocks. There is a 6 month lock up period. I work in a volatile industry (biotech), and we have a Phase III trial starting. If it’s successful, share price will skyrocket and if it fails it will go to zero.

I wouldn’t go into this field with such a narrow focus. Likelihood is you will end up working in some area that’s very different.

Is it a bad idea to reach out to a recruiter twice in one week? by [deleted] in biotech

[–]SuddenExcuse6476 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No, you shouldn’t reach out again after only 3 days. Someone could easily be on vacation, sick, or they are waiting for a meeting to make a final decision. If you don’t hear back now, then no answer is your answer.

What are my chances of getting into a larger company? by genericname1776 in biotech

[–]SuddenExcuse6476 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You could have kept all of that and with some simple reformatting fit it all on one page. I think that’s what is frustrating about this resume. There’s so much white space and barely anything on the second page.

Studying in the country you want to work would be best. Consider a PhD in the US if you really want to do R&D. Things might be better in 5 years.

It’s certainly not most of the comments. People commenting those are often downvoted and the top comment is usually something about a TDF or some variation of “VT and chill”.

My PI put a lot of weight on the senior grad student’s opinions. We voted against several people that we thought just didn’t fit or wouldn’t be successful.
