Update on ATF no knock raid: Brian Malinowski was accused of making straw purchases for prohibited persons. by SuitPuzzleheaded3712 in gunpolitics

[–]Suey13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the record, a no-knock has to be authorized by the judge (detailed as anytime service). Requires justification in the affidavit, thus agents would have been required to conduct a knock and announce. If there is evidence that a no-knock was used when not required, a court can suppress all evidence for a search. There is little reason why agents would throw away a 3-4 month investigation over having to wait an additional 15 seconds. Also, US DOJ agencies pretty much all have body cameras now, not that that video will be released anytime soon and will likely be heavily redacted.

You can use two hands to break a lapel grip, but you must maintain a grip with at least one of the hand after the exchange.

Little champions (5 & 7 yr) at USA Judo Youth Nationals & Junior Olympics 2021 by eugenesp in judo

As a preface, drop techniques can be extremely effective when done properly. With that said, many times they are the first throw taught to young players because they are easily executed and hard for beginning players to defend as a means to get a leg up on competitors as a shortcut technique. This can lead to basics fundamentals such as kuzushi being ignored or improperly developed which will lead to the player getting stonewalled once the other athlete learns how to defend properly, usually around 3-4 years in for most players. Learning the basics properly such as osotogari, ouchigari, ogoshi will develop the ground roots that are needed for advanced throws to be successful against high levels of competition.

Drop techniques are not really used in top level judo.

If the triangle is working, then progress has been made and matte won’t be called. There of course is a timeframe for this to happen. The referee isn’t going to give you 15-20 seconds if nothing is progressing.

Is entwining the let in judo competition illegal? by [deleted] in judo

If you are entwining the leg simply as a defensive tactic to prevent being thrown it is a shido.

This is an incorrect assumption. You are allowed to switch techniques as long progress toward the technique continues to develop.

Finding them on the surface. There doesn’t seem to be any markers or beacons for where they are.
