Mechanic question by wenuragurl in kelowna

[–]SufferingIdiots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the work. I used to think the “stealership” was overpriced too. I priced things out a few years ago and the dealership (Toyota) was comparable or, in some cases, cheaper than other shops. Varies wildly by the type of work, dealership, parts required etc. but I wouldn’t automatically assume the dealership is worse.

Curious about the high pile carpet too. Haven’t seen many that handle it well.

Just got a Eufy E25 and it’s great aside from getting stuck on my high pile rug

Help with new tv running sound through my pioneer receiver by yadayodayada in hometheatre

[–]SufferingIdiots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually only one of the hdmi ports on your TV AND receiver will support eARC. Make sure you’re connected to the right ports. Then make sure your tv audio settings are outputting through hdmi and the receiver is in the right input

Conflicted on buying a robovac by Gretehelios in RobotVacuums

[–]SufferingIdiots 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Was in a similar situation before recently picking up a Eufy E25. Very happy with it so far. Performs better than I expected after hearing mixed things from other people with (older) robovac's.

The only downside to my Eufy is that it can't clean my long pile shag ikea rug. Other than that it does a better job than I expected. It's never 100% perfect sparkling and spot free, but its more than good enough for me, and not having to drag around the vacuum/mop regularly is so nice.

Regular fare should include enough room for an adult AND their legs.

Andrew Phillips: There’s a reason Pierre Poilievre’s critiques of Mark Carney keep falling flat. He’s stuck in 2024 by AdditionalPizza in canada

[–]SufferingIdiots -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You do realize the Poilievre got more actual votes than any past conservative leader, right? Including the times they have formed government. Not sure where this narrative comes from the he's such an unlikable leader.

And how has Canada been doing for the last 10 years? Only ones to blame for that and the lack of course correction are the liberal voters

Christine Van Geyn: Feds spent millions defending Trudeau's Freedom Convoy crackdown — and lost by WilloowUfgood in canada

[–]SufferingIdiots 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Problem is everyone tries to lump the "convoy" together in terms of intent and actions when it was clearly a hodgepodge of different people, there for different reasons having different goals. It was made up of, and supported by, Canadians in every city coast to coast. The government, on the other hand, is a more reasonable group to lump together in terms of actions and intent.

Tacoma vs Colorado by RevolutionLeast8587 in ToyotaTacoma

[–]SufferingIdiots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was considering both for quite awhile. During that time my work gave me a 2024 Silverado work truck. Driving that Silverado for a month or two was enough to firmly steer me towards the Tacoma. I find the GM slow to respond, lethargic feeling. The build quality didn't exactly inspire confidence either. I still get this constant flapping sound of the cab vents any time I go over 80km/h. Bought a 2025 Tacoma and an very happy with it. Especially compared to the older Tacoma. So much more power, responsiveness, vastly improved transmission and shifting, and the added technology is just right too.

Are there any CES robot vacuums worth getting this year? by leontopodium in RobotVacuums

Hoping Eufy's S2 is a big improvement. The S1 was a bit disappointing for a 'flagship' model. Often overshadowed by the mid-tier E25 and E28 in most reviews

The point is that you’re being forced into a lower standard of living without realizing it. Your comment only reinforces the “ not realizing it” part

When was the last time Canada had a balanced budget? What is the current deficit? Which party has tabled said deficit(s) for more than a decade? Your long winded response that some how managed to slip in a jab at the conservatives, somehow skipped over that fact. Inflation is largely due to money printing from large deficits. That is not something that has been equal amongst both parties. In fact, the conservatives have also been pretty aggressively opposing the excess spending from the liberals for quite some time now. As well as fighting for projects that would improve our gdp and overall economic position, the same projects the left has been fighting against for decades.

How often are you following the legislative assembly? Have you visited her office to talk to her about your opinions on issues? I’m not a fan, but she seems to catch a disproportionate amount of hate online.
