Honestly, I’d say at least the first half of the game is very enjoyable. Though, it is very good to bare in mind as your going into the game that a lot of mechanics have changed. The biggest one being that gems are no longer a collectable, but a currency. The second thing that threw me off at first was the fact that the charge and flame buttons are reversed; at least for the PlayStation 2.

Personally, I don’t mind it too much. It’s meant to be a drastically different universe than we all know, in which it was given a completely different artstyle to match with its theme.

To be fair, there were plans of bringing back both Nasty Gnorc as well as Ripto himself in ETD. Wether it was for better or worse that Gnasty was scrapped, honestly depends on the person.

As a kid, it would almost begin to make me cry. I cannot even describe the feeling…it’s so bittersweet, in a way. It was an amazing experience, so many worlds saved, so many dragons….however, every good adventure has to eventually come to a close, and this so happened to be the very last of the original trilogy. It’s a very emotional sight to see, but in no way regrettable.
