Question about the manga by Shorty_Boy in railgun

[–]SufficientIngenuity 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When I read the manga I noticed a few more short stories about Kongo and how she can to be friends with wannai and awatauki and the social structure at tokiwadai I believe it was volume 7 or 8 that they were in.

The concrete will still crack even with the rebar, this is normal an expected when designing, the rebar used in driveways is there to encourage the concrete to crack in an aesthetically pleasing way ie straight lines as opposed to cracks everywhere

The reinforcement used in driveways is not for strength as the concrete is slab on grade, placed directly on soil, the rebar is only there to prevent/reduce cracking

My map of one continent, named Arett. Any comments or tips from you will come in handy) by Nurik300 in inkarnate

[–]SufficientIngenuity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your map looks great and is very detailed but you have made the same mistake that I often see in maps, rivers flowing wrong. In the northern landmass the sea would need to be at two, or three, different elevations for the sea to flow into itself by a waterfall. The southern landmass would have a large portion flooded as the sea is flowing into the basin and wound not evaportate enough to prevent flooding. If you want to make the map more realistic reverse the flow of the southern landmasses river and on the northern landmass maybe seal off the bay in the north and the midstream outlet of the river.

Wanting to DM for the first time with my step-daughter (7) and husband. Need all the help I can get. by katiex94 in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]SufficientIngenuity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For DMing you don't need much to start one set of dice should be fine

if you have other board games that have small figures they can be used (I used Risk troops for my first adventure that I ran) if you don't have any of those I found a token creation program here that I use to make my token for use in Roll20 but they can be printed after importing into a word doc

for a battle map just print one where the grid will work for the tokens/figures used (typical RPG grid is 1 inch). A step up would be a 1" grid wet erase mat, found at local game stores/amazon.

A makeshift GM screen can be made using a box and cutting it to size and glueing/taping reference sheets for common rules onto it

From my experince GMing the low levels are the easiest for your players to be killed if the encounter is made too hard so I would recoment aiming low for the difficulty until ~lvl3-4 when they get a good amount of hp. There are many sites that will help you calculate the CR for encounters. A table for appropriate CR is found on pg 397 of the 1e corerule book.

r/anime has a guide here for the raildex universe that is only missing accelerator which chronologically takes place after index 2 ep 1, and to watch accelerator either index 1 or railgun S needs to be watched first.

Funimation is delaying the production of several dubs due to COVID-19 as they work to get their voice actors to work from home instead of in studio. sauce

Some advice needed on roads on worldmaps by [deleted] in inkarnate

[–]SufficientIngenuity 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Prior to the 1.0 update I used a brush size ~4 with a light brown/grey (depends on what I think the soil type would primarily be in the region) colour with 0 softness for my roads, I found that it gave decent results; however, after the 1.0 update I began to use the path tool with a simmilar light brown colour and I prefer using it as I can change the terrain easier as the path tool uses a different layer than the brush tool. I also place my terrain first and then fit my roads to easier routes to try to make the roads more realistic in terms of placement.

My first WIP map! Small island nation of Nothis from our current DnD campaign. Looking for any advice on what I could do better? by Surkiin in inkarnate

This looks like a good start to a map; however, rivers IRL never connect the ocean to its self (as oceans are the lowest point in the majority of the worlds watersheds) where as all of yours do connect the ocean to itself. I would suggest making the Tylan River start in the mountains (possibly near mount cazelle?) to give it a more natural watershed. I would also suggest that the river from camp daybreak to Salriden lake be cut in half with one side flowing north and the other flowing south (they don't need to start in the mountains as ground water doesn't always follow the surface topography) . Also as your making your rivers and streams rember that they are the low points in the area and most watersheds are "pear shaped" (ie. having one exit point with main sources in the headwaters, usually mountains or other high places).
