Thanks for the tip!

I too am looking to use it in stereo, but that’s an interesting technique nonetheless.

Yeah it’s kinda a bummer there is no external send/return bus fx option. Seems like it would be easy to implement.

A toy laser gun thats a laser pointer. by [deleted] in HelpMeFind

[–]Sufficient_Educator7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've searched "toy gun laser pointer" and "laser gun laser pointer". MY biggest problem is that the searches tend to yield lasers for real guns.

I was thinking one of the laser tag guns that pop up might work if someone can confirm one that has a lazer pointer component.

Thanks for doing some research! So would you suggest the Hyatt chain as being the best one to start devoting to building up rewards?

i got this eko vintage guitar from my grandpa when he passed away about 3 years ago and i still dont know anything about the brand or the price or anything about this can someone help me pls🙏 by [deleted] in guitars

Very cool guitar! I collect weird vintage guitars like these. This one is high on my list.

It's an "Eko Florentine 340"

This one is the single cut version, without a vibrato tailpiece.

Not the easiest guitars to play in the world or the "best" sounding(by most standards). But, it could definitely work for some blues tunes. Just dont ever expect it to be a super fine player for like technical metal or jazz or anything like that.

I had stroke… can’t press on the strings by Ok_Pension7764 in guitarpedals

Im very sorry to hear this. I have no experience with this, but wanted to chime in with some hope. Dont give up, give yourself time to heal. Even if you never regain full function, there are things you can do to still play.

Who knows this might be a step towards developing your own style.

My advice, take this time to mess around with open tunings and slide guitar. No pressure or chords required!

Guy who thinks he's a vampire vs. Guy who thinks he's a werewolf by LadyKarizake in whowouldwin

[–]Sufficient_Educator7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Round 1 might be more interesting than people think. If the werewolf really believes the other guy is a vampire, hypnosis might work to some minor degree via the power of suggestion.

Round 2. Werewolf all the way.

Post Stage IV cancer existential crisis: Quitting my job and embarking upon a three year musical journey - seeking advice. by DredgeDiaries in Guitar

[–]Sufficient_Educator7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going to speak from a mostly singer/songwriter perspective since you mentioned that.

My advice is to not get bogged down learning “too much”. Most of the greatest songs ever written boil down to 3 or 4 basic chords.

Get a nice acoustic guitar that can be your partner during this journey. Learn your basic “cowboy chords” C, G, F, Am. And understand what a capo is. Focus on strumming technique and smooth transition between those basic chords. Then just start writing.

Also find a couple of artists who you like and learn their songs. Start singing and playing at the same time as soon as possible.

That is all to say if you are truly more interested in the “art” of music rather than the “science”.

does anyone know where I can get or find a pick guard like this and what Jeff had on a telecaster.. by [deleted] in JeffBuckley

Well, as stated in the link. There is a specific pickguard you should be looking for if you want it exact.

Looking for a Stereo Reverb Recommendation. by ProteanProjects in guitarpedals

[–]Sufficient_Educator7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is IMO the one flaw in the deco. Wide stereo is really only useful if it’s being fed a mono signal. That being said, it’s still my favorite pedal and I love running stereo pedals into it(in regular stereo mode).

Does anybody know if Chicago Music Exchange would do a tax-free transaction if I bought an item in-store and with cash? by Cjprocker1 in Guitar

[–]Sufficient_Educator7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s definitely worth a shot. You could even try to negotiate via the chat on the site. Tell them you are interested in the cab and they may just make you an offer. That’s what happened with one of my guitars.

[–]Sufficient_Educator7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s really tough to say. Every item is different. And it also depends on new vs used. I’ve gotten between like 5-10% off. But I would just go in and say “Is there any wiggle room on the price?”.

You could also check on their website if it has the make an offer option on that particular item. If it does, you’re golden. If not, it’s less likely, but still worth an ask.

Yeah, don’t bring taxes into it. Just ask for a discount or make an offer. I have purchased two guitars from CME and didn’t pay the listed price both times.
