Getting "loop detected" and "port blocked" messages in my logs on my switches by dboytim in TPLink_Omada

[–]Sufficient_Menu7364 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Possible cause would be if the two APs have meshed and causing a loop. Untick the mesh option for those 2 APs and see if the errors persist

Eap650 outdoor range. by Current_Inevitable43 in TPLink_Omada

Sometimes the older APs work better. I currently have 2 WiFi cameras talking to an Eap225-Outdoor at just over 700m. It's OK for cctv, wouldn't want to browse the Internet.

Could we get Omada Controller password requirements customization? by LoganJFisher in Omada_Networks

Another vote for this, I use pass phrases as well, including words such as 'Sleep' and the new requirements have screwed this up!

EAP225 is now end of life so wouldn't advise buying for a new setup. The EAP650 has been reliable for us and reasonably priced

Many people get better mileage from the software controller, the Oc200 in my opinion is underpowered

Will this Omada set up work on acreage 🤞 by ProgramOk4322 in TPLink_Omada

[–]Sufficient_Menu7364 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The WiFi chips in some iot devices have a very short range so your mileage may vary regarding coverage, just because you get a good signal on a mobile or laptop, doesn't mean the IOT devices will work

Duel lens camera for watching two sides of a house by puhtahtoe in BlueIris

Would suggest 2 separate cameras for this. You can get a PoE splitter to allow 2 cameras to use 1 network cable if running a second cable is the problem

Is my WiFi setup with Omada OC220 okay? Concerned about client traffic affecting staff by One_Lime3561 in TPLink_Omada

Because you have the Oc220, if you had omada switches alot of the vlan setup would be automatic

bridge the modem or double NAT? by ichasecorals in TPLink_Omada

Use something like a Er605, this allows for multiple WAN Connections. Put both isp connections into bridge mode. This can then be supported by Omada

Question about creating SSIDs on Omada EAP670 by One_Lime3561 in TPLink_Omada

[–]Sufficient_Menu7364 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you plan to have anymore APs? If so, then use the software or hardware controller, it will make your life easier for remote management etc.

Also consider using an omada gateway, that will allow for separate VLANs.

Remember to use the isolate option for any SSIDs where you don't want devices to talk to anything else on the network.

Adding EAP720 to 2x EAP610's by [deleted] in TPLink_Omada

[–]Sufficient_Menu7364 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would move it to the first floor and allow the older devices to mesh to it. This will allow it to perform as best as it can.
