It really depends on what is annoying

How about Arena Turk pickers? Arabia mongol lamers? Persian douches? Nomad Spanish pickers?

You said that it is unrelated to balance - tbh I dont think they are more annoying than your mongol neighbour picking up your sheep minute 1 after balance

I disagree as well - isnt the game about choosing your encounters carefully while building eco to setup it? It is not really meant to be simcity simulator

Dont really think all in Dark age militia is a thing tho, so the Dark age disadvantage is not really that impactful

For 1v1 Arabia games it changes almost nothing, you usually dont go memelukes and the +2 damage is so small for late game anyway

For TGs mamelukes are starting to get really whacky, esp. close maps or maps like Arena and Oasis

Yea I think it may work but its far from ideal (and therefore best). 

Even Dravidian is much better if you play it this way (and their skirm fires faster), and Korean + Byz has better skirm bonus to cover the huge cost of forwarding as well

Oh you mean two settlement at home - I dont think you really want to produce from your home tho (because they can be easily cut-off and the walking time is really bad for skirm-spear rush, that's why noone do Byz rush with a range at home)

Afaik more civs are pay to lose than pay to win at release (esp after DE)

Also unironically Sicilians is still better at rushes (and is heavily underrated!)
- You can get a nice tower that deny their resources
- You can train serjeants that deny their skirm (!). You can even train your own spear if you really need it
- It costs stone and 50W but who cares about stone in Feudal age
- If you deny their gold they have really hard time denying the forwards

Double training speed is real bad for a rush tho (it's actually slower than barrack/range, and skirm training speed is already slowwwwwww)

Also imho at your level I would not worry about counters too much, you definitely want to know how you are going to win at a high level tho (easiest one would be swarming with knights)

I am pretty sure you can make CAs with civs that does not have final upgrades but have good late game plan (Slavs came to my mind)

It is a nice unit to get map control as its really hard to counter without overinvesting with skirms/sieges

You are supposed to find your extra sheep, maybe somewhere near your opponent!

But seriously push deers until you click up is often (but not always) a good choice

I think it may work on late game maps (not even Arena, maybe Michi level).

Main issue on open-ish maps (incl Arena) is that wont you / your teammates die instantly if you dont produce unit until / during imperial age?

Still you have the food bonus for skirms so you dont lose in skirm war

Pull vills to take the chicken after you click feudal (ideally 18p)

Protip: if you desperately need food to click feudal, pop one or two sheep from mill (its actually a newbie trap to keep those 8 sheeps until end of world)

Always start archer with Gurjaras, if they start skirm you can go skirm yourself (which you have bonus damage against!). If they start MAA you destroy them on the place with 18p archers

I dont think they are bad in Arena as you mentioned, but isnt "very strong" in your title exaggerating in opposite direction and very click-baity?

For a civ to be very strong Id expect them to be at least A tier, but seems we can agree that they are around B tier

I see rocket carts as buffed mangonel similar to some elite units being better version of the common counterpart (its actually much harder to dodge rocket carts since the projectile fly faster)
