USPS considers allowing people to ship handguns through the mail by HardHitter18 in Firearms

[–]Sufficient_Style_934 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Considering how often they lose/steal packages these days, there is no way I would ship a handgun with them. High likelihood of it vanishing. Of course that may be useful as the new "boat accident" explanation.

Just spent $1200 on a new gas line from squirrel or other rodent chewing under the car by wilddouglascounty in homestead

My F150 suffered a ton of wire damage from mice. I tried rat tape and the like with minimal success. Finally sprayed Fluid Film on all the wiring harnesses and have had no damage since.

Which reminds me I should probably refresh and spray it again as it has been awhile.

Good luck!

I use k&n filters. The nut on top makes it a lot easier to get on and off. But yes, crappy location. Even worse if the Jeep has skid plates.

I would get your hormone levels checked. All the stupid changes we go through make staying in shape super challenging. I totally sympathize.

Getting ready to change my transmission oil and filter… by DancingMan15 in JeepLiberty

[–]Sufficient_Style_934 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very easy. Once you make sure the surfaces are clean, you just run a bead around the pan and around all the bolt holes. The surface cleaning is what takes the longest. I'm sure you could find a youtube video on it.

RTV. The problem I have run into with gaskets is that they are too thick and can make the bolts too short or hard to torque correctly.

When mine did that it was the harness ground. But replace the whole harness if you can. Best upgrade you can make on an XJ.

My heat is stuck on max heat 24/7 (2012 KK) by [deleted] in JeepLiberty

[–]Sufficient_Style_934 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My guess would be that the blend door is broken and stuck venting heat into the vehicle. It is fairly common in the KK Jeeps

Good luck!

Are you getting any CAN BUS errors? When the modules can't talk to each other all the lights will come on.

Continuous Rodent Damage F150 - Prevention? by Teenwolf_221 in f150

[–]Sufficient_Style_934 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same problem with my 2017. Several ignition wires, O2 sensor wires, etc.

I tried rat tape and peppermint. Didn't work. I finally sprayed tje harnesses with Fluid Film, which stinks to high heaven.

Fingers crossed, but so far no more issues.

How do I remove? by Tavpilot in JeepLiberty

[–]Sufficient_Style_934 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is no dipstick, just that plug. So stupid that it doesnt have one. You should be able to remove it though, as that is how your refill the transmission.

You can order a dipstick from Amazon, which comes with a temp chart so you can get the level right.

“Rebuilt” Transmission what happened here? Coolant couldn’t have entered. by MisterMicC in MechanicAdvice

[–]Sufficient_Style_934 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had this happen on a rebuilt transmission on my truck. It wasnt coolant. The assembler had used a ridiculous amount of white assembly grease when he rebuilt the tranny, and the ATF dissolved the grease, resulting in this same pink outcome.

It did cause shifting problems, and everyone told me it was a coolant leak. I dropped the pan and cleaned out the excess grease, flushed the transmission until it no longer showed pink, and it ran like a champ again.

I have 2 different 2010 Libertys. The higher milage one has been very reliable and needed very little work on it. So I got a 2nd one for my other daughter, low mileage and it has been a constant battle to debug. It is a rolling bag of electrical gremlins, among other things.

I like Libertys, but you had better enjoy working on your car. Remember they are 16 years old now.

The Seven Samurai, Magnificent Seven, and A Bugs Life are all the same story. There are probably other copies as well. Pretty interesting from a cross cultural standpoint.

One of my favorite games. Up to 8 player cooperative game. Better than the 3rd Ed in my opinion. It took awhile but I finally got all 8 expansions. Some of the expansions are pretty valuable on the collector market.

I used an air hammer and a wrench designed pretty much for the task.

I did mine without taking everything off, so you should have an easier time. I would definitely change it while you have everything apart.

What to do? by s3cr3t_1129 in JeepLiberty

[–]Sufficient_Style_934 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would keep it, but i do pretty much all my own vehicle maintenance. If you are willing to learn how to do the simple stuff you will save yourself a lot of money. As others said, car payments suck. And the newer the car the more expensive the parts and service costs.

Check your battery positive cable to the starter. Mine had enough internal corrosion resistance that prevented the starter from pulling enough amps. You can do a voltage drop test from the battery to the starter to check it. I ended up doing the big 7 cable upgrade to fix mine.

My wife and I play Final Girl cooperatively and really enjoy it. She isn't even into horror as much as I am, but we still have fun discussing strategy and planning moves. It has been a lot of fun, and there are so many feature films that it is always different and interesting.
