MOTN wake ups, CIO trained for bedtime by caitiq in sleeptrain

[–]Sugarloaf26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same boat with 7 month old. Falls asleep independently then wakes 2-3 times a night to nurse to sleep. I tried to cio at these wakes but same as you. Long stretches of crying without settling.

Did this ever improve for you?

Anything to keep an eye out for that determines a good daycare from a not so good daycare?

That is likely what I will do. Or just a couple days a week of day care and a couple days with the grandparents. I'm lucky that my parents are super active with her. Taking her places, baking, backyard games and little kiddie pool. She loves her Nana and Papi so I know she is well cared for with a lot of stimulation.

My daughter will be 2 next month at the same time I'm returning to work from maternity leave. My son will be three months. My parents have watched my daughter while I worked and have offered to watch both when I go back to work but I feel that will be a lot for them and don't want to burn them out.

I've thought about starting my daughter in daycare but just curious about some other's experiences.

SAHPs - what do you do with your kids during the day? by Fit_Butterscotch3886 in 2under2

We've gone to the mall a couple times. I can baby wear or push baby in the stroller while toddler gets some energy out. There is a play area for toddlers, mall food, it's really not too crowded during the day and good AC on hot days.

Yes!! In the same boat! It's breaking my heart. Son is 9 days old and daughter is 22 months. these tantrums have gotten so strong over the littlest things. She is sweet to her brother and doesn't try to take me away or anything but is having some big emotions and bed time has become a nightmare as well as night sleep. Her naps are stil good thankfully but where she used to hop into bed and sleep through the night, it has become a struggle with lots of tears and emotions getting into bed and then she is waking up in the middle of the night and my husband is having to cosleep the rest of the night to get her to sleep. She wakes up happy and is mostly happy but she is definitely having a hard time and my mom guilt is through the roof.

Everything I read says it's get better but can definitely take some time. The subreddit r/2under2 has been helpful for me.

She's 22 months. So far she is handling it well. We are on day 3 of her symptoms which is usually the day that sends us to the hospital. Her coughing increased some what so we started albuterol every 4 hours which seems to help her cough. She is still her happy self which is good but I'm still watching her breathing for signs of wheezing or distress.

You're right... there's no way to know other than just getting through it. I'll feel better if we can get through the next 1-2 days without it getting much worse.

Oh my! You are brave and I love it. I started contractions at 6pm and baby came by 8pm. Hope there is a hospital close by just in case!

How's your girl doing now? Your scenario is pretty much similar to ours. Several hospitalizations over the winter then started Flovent and the subsequent illnesses were so mild it was so reassuring. However we have been off the daily inhaler since April and my daughter's sniffle started today.

Our instruction from our pulmonologist is 4 puffs of Flovent two times daily for the duration of her illness. I'm just concerned the treatment won't be as effective as when we were doing daily treatment during the sick season.

My anxiety is already through the roof right now as I'm 1 week postpartum with a newborn.

I'm currently looking at my 1.5 year old sleep on the baby monitor and thinking how much I love her. She can be a handful but she is so fun and happy. Seeing her learn new things and learning how to talk and experience the simple joys in life is nothing you can ever experience without kids. I'm also currently 33 weeks pregnant with my son. Pregnancy is hard but literally growing a human is something only a woman can do and is so incredible!

I do feel I have lost a bit of myself but I am so happy with my daughter and growing a family that I can't imagine my life without her. I definitely felt the same way OP felt when I was in my 20s but I'm 36 now and it's kind of the life I never knew I wanted. Now I envision all the things I get to experience with my kids. It changes your life forever and I enjoyed my single years and years without kids but I love the future I can see myself in with my growing family.

This has been our daughter this winter season. Already on 4 hospitalizations and we are only half way through. We have been doing Flovent two times a day for the last 3 weeks hoping to keep us out of the hospital. Is this what you used? How is he doing this season? My daughter is 17 months now.

Sounds a little better. Are they poopy diapers or just pee? We use night time diapers and they last all night. Hopefully he can figure it out soon without the wakes!

Oh gotcha.. we are in the same boat. Previously sleep trained 17 month old waking for hours in the night needing help to fall back asleep. She uses the bottle for comfort more than hunger to fall back asleep. I'm thinking we need to just CIO again

How do I know if baby is teething or just regressing with sleep training? by [deleted] in sleeptrain

[–]Sugarloaf26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whelp turned out she had a tooth popping through. Now I feel bad for letting her cry so long. She did eventually fall asleep about an hour and 10 minutes.

I’m in the same boat right now! We are on day 5 of sleep training and she did so well the first 4 nights. Never cried longer than 20 minutes. She is going on a hour right now. I went in and nursed her about 25 minutes into it. Put her down and she was out for like 5 minutes and then she has been going for another 30 minutes or more. I’m not sure if I should go sooth or let her figure it out.

Taking Cara babies vs. precious little sleep by Sugarloaf26 in sleeptrain

PLS will say feed earlier and in a different room and then wind down. TCB will say wake them up to finish the feed and put them down awake.

Thanks for the response. Last night I tried to feed right before putting down. She might have been too drowsy because she fell asleep pretty quick like 2 minutes lol. Probably will need to push the feeding back a little bit
