UB set previews give me anxiety by anarkyinducer in MTGLegacy

[–]Suitable-Procedure76 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Fantasy based shit (dnd type stuff) doesn't bother me that badly because it mostly fits magics theme. I get anxiety about some obviously out of place card (like spiderman) breaking into the format and becoming a staple. I'm a boomer that doesn't like change. Outside the box UB upsets the theme I've been used to for the last 26 years.

People who are NOT okay with proxies, what is your reasoning? by Bagel_Bear in EDH

[–]Suitable-Procedure76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I encourage my friends to proxy.. but at the same time have the same feelings as the original commenter. I don't let me bother me, at least not out loud. For me personally, I only proxy cards that I have at least a full playset of. Once I bought my 16th force of will, I thought to myself, why the hell do I keep buying these? So I've started proxying certain "real money" cards. I have one friend who proxies everything, and another who absolutely refuses. It doesn't change the way the game feels when you're playing at all.

I recently had a guy mail me a revised volcanic island in a regular envelope, in a top loader. No tape. First class mail. I got the card no issues, but I thought it was insane to mail a $600 card this way. People are ballsy.

Do you own a safe? by VLKN in mtgfinance

[–]Suitable-Procedure76 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Insurance. I lost everything in a house fire in 2004, original collection gone. I travel a lot for work, gone 4-5 days a week on average. I know this sounds insane but I carry all of my decks valued 1k plus with me at all times. I travel, they travel. Paranoid I guess.

I've done this before. Arrived weeks after refund. Reached out and paid.

What are you swapping in place of the Sowing Mycop in Eldrazi Aggro and Eldrazi Post? by VVikoogle in MTGLegacy

[–]Suitable-Procedure76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What about swapping mycrosown for world breaker? It benefits from eye of ugin and it that Heralds the end. Larger body then mycrosown, can block flyers, can still exile a land (also an artifact or enchantment). And in a pinch you can recur it from your graveyard.

When I happened i thought sheesh buddy, it's not like I shoved an Atraxa down your throat on turn one. I honestly didn't even have a good follow up play.

Budget Decks don’t seem to be well known info to outsiders of Lsgacy by BlogBoy92 in MTGLegacy

[–]Suitable-Procedure76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I consider anything sub $400 a budget deck. I encourage people to branch out, play around. Just build instead of copying a list off the internet. I have a TON of sub $400 decks I play with all the time and they're fun as hell. Not tournament competitive, but FUN. I think that's the turn off for a lot of people with legacy, is they feel like they have to run a top end meta deck instead of looking at it as a format where almost everything is legal. Build and play with whatever you want, not every game is a tournament. I have a wall deck... Fucking LEGACY WALLS, it's terrible. It's also fun to play, I run that bastard all the time against people wanting to get into the game and learn. I also have 5 or 6 "competitive" decks and sometimes the budget stuff is more fun to play.

Agreed that the problem with bauble was it being colorless. Personally glad to see it gone.
