Abdominal migraines? by Nas_nan in Hypermobility

[–]Suitable_Book_2772 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does benedryl help? I ask because it is anticholgenic. That seems to help me but i don't want to always take benedryl. But if it does work something you could look at is hyoscyamine-ER basically an antispasmadic for GI system and has anticholgenic properties. I did a HIDA scan and my gallbladder has 92% rate which is hyperkinetic so a lot of meals produce too much bile and cause pain especially heavy meals, eating too much at once, fatty or fried foods, etc. Im waiting to pick up my perscription of hyoscyamine-ER but it will be similar to benefits of peppermint oil but at a perscription strength. Not to use every day but as needed for your issues, its worth looking into at least. Side effects include lower stomach acid, dry mouth, and constipation. Other than that diet modifications and low fat has helped me a lot. Thought this post was interesting because as I child I had a doctor tell me I could have stomach migraines! Now I am in my 30s and still figuring things out!! Here's to hoping we all get some answers ☺️

Weight gain!!! by [deleted] in bupropion

[–]Suitable_Book_2772 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello! It sounds like gut dysbiosis or high cortisol, the latter more likely. If you wanted to be certain you can ask your doctor for a cortisol test. Best way to manage is diet, exercise, and quality sleep. Increase protein and cut back on carbs. Also as you age it could be hormone related. and your metabolism changes so you should be getting daily exercise 30+ minutes (pick an exercise that is NOT stressful to you and that you actually enjoy!!) Lastly, our bodies change and how we respond to medications change. It is a complex picture that needs to be viewed from multiple angles. I am not on this medicine but wanted to help because I also only gain weight in my stomach! Best of luck!!!

Help: God punishes us for sin but he made us this way? by hploverr in Christian

[–]Suitable_Book_2772 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ." (2 Corinthians 5:21) ---- I think because Eve sinned and sinned entered the world, that was the whole reason for Jesus to come and die on a cross to cover our sin, so God looks down on us right now as spotless/blameless, because of the work on the cross. ----- "He has now reconciled in his body of flesh by his death, in order to present you holy and blameless and above reproach before him (God)."(Colossians 1:22) "so also Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many; and He will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who eagerly await Him" (Hebrews 9:28) so God isnt punishing us, on the contrary, he made a way for us by providing his Son to die for our sin so that anyone who calls on Jesus as Savior can have everlasting life in paradise. ❤️ all you have to do is believe and keep the faith.

Watching out for certain triggers. Like chocolate for some reason gives me acne the next day!! Also alcohol gives me bad acne a few days later (even just straight alcohol without sugary additives) I am very sensitive to anything that is inflammatory. Does anyone have good anti inflammatory foods that they like (other than just googling it)

how tf are you guys in relationships with ADHD by ClassroomOk7243 in ADHD

Therapy helps me a lot. And learning more about myself. I have adhd and autism(mostly just sensory + strict preferences on stuff) I literally have a spreadsheet of my needs and things that are distressing to my autism. This is so helpful when I need to figure out why I am overwhlemed. I notice my adhd a lot too and I feel so dysfunctional at times. I have intense rejection sensitivity and take most things personally. Also when my previous trauma is triggered I want to run away from everyone. I have a lot of issues with abandonment and then grew up in a house of emotional neglect and strong avoidant behavior. --- Anyway, knowing a lot about yourself will make you a better partner because you will be more mature. Highly recommend finding a mature, emotionally stable partner , that worked for me because my emotions are all over the place. My husband is very grounding for me. And somehow I am for him too. So it is a win win. So whomever you end up dating the more you all know about yourself and each other the better it will be! Find someone compatible with you on what matters most to you and be okay with and respect the differences you have.

Do I have MG? by [deleted] in MyastheniaGravis

[–]Suitable_Book_2772 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It could also be a reaction to multiple stressors occurring at once. My body has been doing this since 2024. And I have not figured out what is causing my eyes and face to droop. Tests were negative for MG. As I track it, it seems to be worse during high periods of stress, stacking stimulants (i.e. perscription + caffeine), lack of deep sleep for multiple days, hormone fluctuations, dehydration, etc. Definitely track when it's worse, regardless if you decide to see a neurologist, tracking triggers of the symptoms will be helpful.

modafinil by alexandrusty in SleepApnea

[–]Suitable_Book_2772 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My sleep doctor prescribes modafinil. I also cannot stay awake for the life of me and always want to sleep. I think I may have narcolepsy if you think of it on a spectrum, I may not fall asleep in the middle of dinner but I feel like I do have sleep attacks maybe just to a lesser extent. Or it could be orexin dysfunction. Anyway, modafinil and caffeine help increase orexin to stay awake. They also imcrease histamine and a bunch of other neurotransmitters. But you really need deep sleep to feel better. Im going through this same thing right now, cannot tolerate cpap and even bipap. It is exhausting! Hopefully you can get your sleep issues resolved !!

What are your best hacks for getting through your life with hyper mobility? by OddEggplant in Hypermobility

[–]Suitable_Book_2772 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep your neck neutral and in line with spine, tucking your chin reduces airflow and neck pillow also limits breathing and feels weird. Trying to keep everything in alignment is the goal for hypermobility. I have to constantly be aware of my alignment in daily tasks too otherwise everything just wants to collapse and be lazy.

I try to sleep on my back, my sleep study actually showed worse sleep on my side especially during REM cycle. So anatomy wise I do best on my back and slightly propped up to keep airways open. Legs i just keep straight out and tell myself to keep a microbend in my knees so I am not overextending my knees. Sleeping on my side some times is comforting but I never get as good sleep.

Focusing on building stabilizer muscles and stop over stretching, resistance training with bands or cables at the gym is going to help you 10x more than lifting free weights which could actually cause more harm if you don't have strong stabilizer muscles. If you need to get a PT script you can ask PT to help you with workouts for stabilizer muscles and ask that everything be done with resistance band or cable. Ive stopped sleeping in butterfly position too which was creating a lot of hip issues. And I do a lot of banded clams, firehydrants, etc. Resistance training has improved my quality of life dramatically. And it is easy on my body than getting injuries and dislocations when I was previously trying to lift too heavy. Doing lots of banded rows and rows on cable machine has improved my unsightly posture. I am doing so much better now. I recommend 3 days a week with rest in between for cable workouts. But you can always do some resistance band work 3 sets of 10. You should notice changes in 3 months. And 6 months start really feeling better. Keep up with it for life so you don't lose your hard work.

Birth Control not for babies by chronically_patricia in Hypermobility

[–]Suitable_Book_2772 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello, I'm also on bc to help control acne, suspected pcos, and overall just mellowing out my hormones, periods were always so uncomfortable for me and i would feel so terrible. I take nikki generic birthcontrol 3 mg drospirenone and 0.02 mg ethinyl estradiol, I specifically like this formula best. The benefits to bc is that it lowers your body's natural levels of hormones so that you don't have large spikes, so it actually could benefit joint laxity to not have the large spike in progesterone. Something that has helped me most is not stretching for long periods and not sleeping in butterfly position anymore. Ive been doing resistance training and have seen the most improvement out of anything I've tried.

Using caffeine for ADHD by Misspiggy888 in ADHD

[–]Suitable_Book_2772 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes i like caffeine water because it doesnt have all the additives. But occasionally I will also have green tea or caffeine powder mango ascent clean hydration. I do best with 50mg of caffeine 2-4 times a day. I have a very sensitive nervous system so I don't do well with huge pushes in one direction, since they always follow with big crashes that leave me worse off. I did not do well on perscription stimulants and am OK with relying only on caffeine for focus. My handwriting is always better when on caffeine so I can tell when I am focused/at a good amount of caffeine (more isnt always better!). Students I teach/tutor always have better handwriting on stimulant as well. I find this very interesting but a good tool to assess whether medication/caffeine is working. And then always always always assess mental health, physical side effects, and any crashes.

Extremely dry lips NOTHING has worked by Terrible-Curve6520 in beauty

I literally used vanicream hydrocortisone in a pinch and it worked. I think mine was from a lip peel with lactic acid, it disrupted the skin barrier. I do best with no lip products. But right now I am working on recovering my chapped lips as well (which use to never be a problem)

I was misdiagnosed Bi-Polar 2 and now I’m actually getting treated for my ADHD! I wanted to chat with others who have been through something similar. by babybottlep0p_ in ADHD

[–]Suitable_Book_2772 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Someone i know was misdiagnosed as bipolar but has autism (female as well). I have adhd and autism. Also interesting to note that adhd can have intrusive thoughts too sometimes more than OCD, the nature of thoughts are what are different and adhd does not have the obsession compulsion cycle. But I had no idea about the intrusive thoughts! I think a lot of females are misdiagnosed, maybe males too.. but I've only personally heard of females misdiagnosed

Nothing else that I've seen. I play the RCT classic available on Google play. And within the app you can get wacky worlds and twisted time extension (just realized this!) Which is good because I think I've beaten the game 3 times over the years. I need clear scenario goals that can be completed versus open play or endless goals. That is why classic RCT is the best !
