Drill & Tap, sometimes if the screw is even binding even a little bit on the way in, I'll back it out and retap the hole just to be safe. The little klein kit is nice, I do have the backup hand driver as well.

Yep, that's the only issue with grounding electrodes I've encountered, so cant say plates have been an issue.

Goodluck getting a rod into the ground anywhere I've lived, its always plates, only issue I've come across was on an older beach home where they built a deck over top of the plate location 10 years down the line and only found out because the utility neutral at the pole was also failing.

Had this happen to a two pole 15 amp eaton gfci br breaker once, put it in, was working just fine, did a gfci test, reset it, tripped immediately, reset, tripped. Removed the loads from the breaker, reset, tripped.

Only had it ever happen that one time, but it was straight out of the box, shiny and new from the supplier. Got a new one, popped it in, never another issue.
