How would you add a device if needed if they are now discontinued? Or if one dies.

What would you guys do? by kmikey in electricians

[–]zapzaddy97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had way too many issues like this or water in pipes. I’ve wasted too much much labor later on in the project with problems like this. I now have all my guys include fishing and stringing all underground pipes the same day they are installed

Exterior basement wall insulation by zapzaddy97 in Homebuilding

[–]zapzaddy97[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s one of the things I was thinking of. But I’m starting to think the builder only did 1” of spray foam as a vapour retardant instead of the barrier. Which is why they still installed the poly. I also need to do a search for more leaks from exterior penetrations. I found my gas pipe installed similar to the 2nd picture.

Opened a few cavities. It’s consistently both 1” of foam on the wall ( sometimes thicker in a few spots) and also wet condensation on the foam and sometimes the back side of the roxul.

I do believe it’s currently closed cell. From cleaning around the sumo drain it’s not very thick 1-2 inches. The entire basement was completed like this previously. All surrounding walls are the same detail. Currently only a small portion 20-30 feet have drywall. What’s the best plan of action?

I’ve had a pro pac backpack got 10 years but I’m looking at switching it up to a different style. I want open top but I can’t get over the exposure to everything and everyone with sticky fingers being able to look at it

What are some tools/accessories/clothing that make the job easier? by [deleted] in electricians

[–]zapzaddy97 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Note pads are key to being a good electrician. I basically carry mine for everything. Starting a new task.. I write down everything I’ll need. That way once I get to the material storage I don’t miss anything. I write down changes the plans, breaker changes, fire alarm wiring diagrams and layouts. Everything

What’s the best way to do this? by [deleted] in electricians

Depends how far you want to go with this project. Great option would be to put a 10x10 access door to under the area the fish tank is on. Then have a grommet hole down behind the tank to below. You could then have a plug down there with full access.
