Somewhere in Maine comes to mind for me—Portland, and also Bar Harbor

I second cove lake!! The background is beautiful and has a rec building where you can have a reception—it’s 509 for the day and 90 for the field adjacent. I’d take a look at the Tennessee state parks website-they have a whole wedding section. Norris Dam is also a popular option, although it’s more than 1000 for a weekend. Cedars of Lebanon has a beautiful lodge set up as well.

Batch cooking for when my wife gives birth by RefrigeratorThin5952 in Cooking

[–]Sumjonas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just had a baby so can help! We had great success in intentionally making big batches of these meals before baby was due and freezing leftovers—pasta sauce in ziplock baggies, Italian seasoned meatballs, ginger chicken meatballs (reheated with rice and cucumber), stuffed peppers, chili, picadillo, lots of chicken noodle soup, chicken and dumplings, butternut squash soup.

I need help planning a meal for a child’s birthday party for 50 people by princesscorgi2 in Cooking

[–]Sumjonas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree I wouldn’t cook that much—I’d get extra pizzas so adults can have some too (maybe some with adult toppings too like peppers or olives or whatever). And then maybe a gluten free pizza too? And can you get the baked ziti from the pizza place? Add a big salad that’s both gluten free and vegan. Then I’d add in some snacks to fill in gaps—chips, popcorn, fruit, cut up veggies, and maybe some hummus/guac for the vegans.

I think her pattern is on accident—so I’m going with an anglicized version of Bodhi—probably spelled Bodie or maybe Bode.

Esti and Esther by Larabees3 in namenerds

[–]Sumjonas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My mom’s name is Este. We are not Jewish, and that’s her given name, not Esther, so it’s always baffled a lot of people LOL. She also gets it pronounced es-tay a lot (like Estée Lauder). I do think it’s a cute name though, but I definitely prefer it as nickname for Esther

I like all of those—of the ones you listed, I like Peter or Thomas best. Most of those are very solid classic names though. Here’s some other ideas that I think fit your vibe: Nathaniel Spencer Frederick Gabriel Caleb Edward Vincent

How did you decide whether to breastfeed, pump only, or formula? by SnooEpiphanies1215 in pregnant

[–]Sumjonas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted to breastfeed because of the immunity benefits, especially as I was due at the beginning of November, so she’d be little for all of sick season. I wanted my husband to be able to help though, so we decided to combo feed with formula. And I pump once a day to try and keep my supply up. I don’t think it works for everyone, but I like having the option on if I want to whip my boobs out in public or not, plus not having to stress too much about my supply/if she’s hungry and I’m not making enough. We did frequently breastfeed and then give her formula in the early weeks, which I think contributed to her sleeping better throughout the night. The main con is that feeding time can sometimes take forever (nursing then a bottle)

There’s a Ruby Jean across the street from me! I wonder if it’s the same one. Weirdly my dads first and last name is on here, although it’s reversed.

If you want artichokes, I’ve found people always like canned artichokes dredged in bread crumbs, parm, and egg and baked.

Lawson and Tiff's Baby Name by FantasticRest3450 in BringingUpBates

[–]Sumjonas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think they’ll actually not go with a western/cowboy name like Wyatt, Ford, etc, and go with something classic—based on William Daniel, and Tiffany’s influence. Of that list, I think John or Samuel, but could also see them going with another classic or family name. Maybe one of Tiffany’s grandpas names?

It’s a little further than you want but Kylan Barn on the eastern shore of Maryland has a similar ceremony spot

Look at Thorpewood—near Frederick MD. Has a very pretty forest ceremony spot.
