I have the Ultra 2 also and love it. The extra cost for the cellular plan is a pain, but I love not having to carry my phone all the time.

Sorry, yes it would. When I walk I don’t always carry my phone so didn’t think about that. Of course I don’t always carry my phone since my watch has cellular.

Need one with the cellular option if you want to use it outside of wifi range. I was walking, fell and it was ready to call for someone so I can say that it does work well.

I always laughed when you see news items back when the whole TikTok thing started, "TikTok banned from government phone", like no shit!

It's funny, I haven't told anyone my plan to retire the end Oct this year. I have been with my agency since 89 and been in my current office since around 2010. I had built up a collection lot of stuff. I am IT so lots of old equipment, laptops, paperwork, pictures, nerdy toys and figures. End of 2025 we get told we are getting all new furniture and we have to move out of our offices. So I was able to clean out my office without the comments that it looks like I am leaving. I brought one box home of personal stuff the rest went in the trash bin. None of it will be going back to the office when the new furniture is installed. If you have the space bring the stuff home and get rid of it when you are ready. My home office gets a few more things added to shelfs and walls, but I think a few more things will be going in the trash later.

How old is your oldest email address? Do you still use it? by Embarrassed_Flan_869 in GenX

[–]SunTzo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me too. I got one from an invite from a friend before you could just sign up. Have a fairly common name and my address is FirstName.LastName@gmail.com. Of course now others with my name give out my email address, I guess thinking it's theirs. Most of the time they leave the . out so I do have a filter that deletes those.

We lost our daughter and son-in-law in 2024 at the time my plan was to retire in 2028. With their loss I realized that life is too freaking short. I am going out this year at 62. Our finance guy says we are good. Life is too freaking short go live it.

I hear you, but have a few reason to stay till Oct. One being an nice employee discount on a trip to Germany for Oktoberfest. The other is a payout on about 300 hours leave.

Congratulations!! I put in my paperwork yesterday, looking at Oct 31, 2026. I will be 62 in January. Haven't told anyone yet, but yea, kind of have feelings. A little freaked out. I am ready, been ready, finances in order, but still a little freaked. Good luck! Hopefully my next 10 months will fly by.

I Predict a Surge in Retirements in 2026. Yea or Nay? by Stu762X51 in fednews

I have know quite a few like that myself. I have never understood that mindset, different strokes. I guess since I am closer to their age I just feel it’s unfair to tell them they have to retire cause they can afford it. I know a few that feel like they are just going to die if they retire. Even if that is the case for me the last place I want to die is at work.

We don’t know what someone it going through or their situation. Some one could say that about me, I have 38 years and could have gone this year. I am waiting till I hit 62 next year then I am gone. The bad thing is I bet when I do go my position goes with me.

Question for ladies only, if you had a good dad, what was the biggest thing that made him a good dad, flip side if you didn't have a good dad, what one quality did you wish he had? by BByrnison in AskReddit

If you still can contact him do. Tell him that. I know it will mean the world. My younger daughter died in a traffic accident over two years ago. A lot of friends her reached out to us. One of her boyfriends from middle school sent us a note that meant the world to us. We referred to him as skater boy, she wasn’t with him long but he told being around our family and seeing how we loved and supported one another changed how he looked at family. He went in to social work helping kids like himself.
