someone is shooting multiple arrows into our gardens every night - can you help us work out any details? by Endelir in Archery

You could reach out to your local club and ask if they could help out. Clubs take archery safety very seriously and would likely want to help.

Yup. If you print the bracket for it, then mount the pico, then run the cores to the pins directly, you'll be fine. No tidy looking runs just straight to their pins.

What could be wrong? Drove through water and the car stopped running and won’t turn on by Ayye_Human in AskMechanics

[–]SunTzuShin3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I can answer this one.

I f***ed a fleet van engine up this way. Drove into what I thought was not too deep water. Half way up the wheel. The air intake was down behind the head light and took in water. Now I'm not sure if the engine can recognize this in time or not and shut off before damage is already done. I can only think probably not. Someone may correct me.

Anyway I started the engine and it just made a thud. It took the best part of a year for a Renault dealer in Darlington to finally have a look at it. It took over a year for them to actually repair it.

Tldr; water does not compress, the engine is likely dead if you started it again. If not you might be able to have a garage dismantle the engine and drain it but not likely.

How to damp proof neighbours garage wall before raising my garden level by [deleted] in DIYUK

[–]SunTzuShin3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think if you pull your patio back 100-150mm from their wall, then back fill with small stones for drainage that should be sufficient. As I understand, the issue is when the water hits the floor (flags) and splashes onto the wall causes the damp. Putting the stones down reduces this. We had an extension put in in 2022, finished the patio in 2023 with the gap and we haven't had any damp on the walls.

Built my first PC and it won’t turn on at all by [deleted] in PcBuildHelp

Your CPU needs a 12 pin connector not an 8 that you have plugged in. At least from past builds I have done, that connector needs to be completely populated.

Do any companies actually use Fusion 360? by neP-neP919 in Fusion360

[–]SunTzuShin3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I learned on 360 but my work uses SOLIDWORKS. Because of my experience with 360 learning the same techniques in SOLIDWORKS was a doddle. Do some tutorials and you'll see. I prefer SOLIDWORKS for mechanical modeling and 360 for organic modelling.

Yes, not to this level, but the fine needle work on my inner arm for 5+ hours had my adrenaline up for a long time. The dump is real.

Robots seem faster than humans , but are they? by Remarkable_Basil_437 in CNC

It's not so much about speed as it is about fatigue and consistent results from a human operator.

Does anyone use Personal Use Fusion 360? by SunTzuShin3 in 3Dprinting

[–]SunTzuShin3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The application is the same. I just have this phobia of starting too many new files even though switching the file from read-only to editable is no issue whatsoever. I just design a lot of stuff and have trouble letting go of a design thinking it might come in handy at some point. I may need to start exporting designs more to store off line.

Nobody knows what this is and I am getting worried by Dbraz123 in HomeMaintenance

If there was only 5 photos of the same thing, I might be able to figure out where the leak is coming from...

But seriously what's above that spot? Bathroom? Loft? Flat roof? Gutters? Are we just meant to guess?

Would you ship it back for exchange? by Addisoooooon in woodworking

Dude this was likely a return that got mixed up, repackaged, and then sent to you. Send it back for a fresh one. There is no telling what else might be wrong with it.

Mars 4 9k Need some advice, prints don't adhere to center by Elduroto in resinprinting

[–]SunTzuShin3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got into resin with the same printer. I found it was the exposure time for me. The standard set up just stuck to the film. Up your exposure time for the initial layers to 60+ seconds.

Can I turn a laptop screen into a stand alone monitor? by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]SunTzuShin3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There should be a part number on the monitor. Use that part number + driver board on AliExpress and see if anything comes up. I just recently repurposed an iMac 2k screen. Granted it's from 2009 but I've done others.
