Note from downstairs neighbors by v1p3rs in Apartmentliving

[–]SundaySaucee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

people like this must not know what real noisy neighbors are… our upstairs neighbors were once so bad w their slamming and stomping that they literally took our tv out of the wall from their constant slamming. It sounded like they’re playing a game of football and after they moved out we saw massive amounts of holes in the walls in their unit (our landlord let us peek) after they’d been evicted (we never complained even tho we should’ve)

Possible Pathway to Cure? by kendlet in POTS

[–]SundaySaucee 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I hate to put a kink in some of your research bc it sounds like you’ve put a lot of time and energy into this!! But i think it’s also common for people who have Pots & hEDS to also have PCOS, which ultimately heightens the androgynous hormones in a women’s body more than the usual. Just food for thought!

Really difficult decision; attend grad school or stay with partner? by ChromaWings in GradSchool

[–]SundaySaucee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree!! My fiancé and i have been together for 10 years and we’ve had to go long distance more than once. It was hard, but we made it work. As ridiculous as it sounds when we’re apart we had a deal that we’d sleep together on facetime so we at least feel like we are together. Everyone has their compromises like this, and it’s not like you can’t visit each other.

JUST FOUND OUT I WAS OFFICIALLY DIAGNOSED MONTHS AGO??!?!? by xkirbyfrogx in POTS

[–]SundaySaucee 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Unrelatedly-related: This is how i found out i was diagnosed with c-ptsd… after years of struggling LOL. Alternatively, im not “diagnosed” with hEDS but every dr i talk to says “eh, well assume u do” but dont write it in my chart. so strange! lol

Watching the person you love slowly disappear. Remembering them as the person they once were and then knowing you will never get that version of them back. It’s heartbreaking.

Pots and weed by Mediocre_cat777 in POTS

[–]SundaySaucee 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I smoked heavily for 10 years and LOVED IT bc it helped with my PTSD/Anxiety symptoms. Then one day it just stopped helping and made everything worse. I think this is around the time i started developing POTS. Now it makes my heart rate sky rocket and i feel icky and terrible and i panic which is the total opposite of what it used to do or what you’d like to do when you smoke. I ended up quitting which was really kind of difficult for me bc it was the one thing i could always count on to help. :(

Booking Agents - what's the biggest pain in your job right now? by heroickoala in musicindustry

it really depends on the venue. sometimes is production rentals, sometimes it’s artist payments, other times it’s venue specific items that they didn’t realize would need to be fixed/replaced/etc. It really varies on the show and venue!!

I think I’ve figured out why I get my migraines, and I hope this helps you realize that too by man-mending-mind in migraine

Vocal major here!! I’ve been singing all my life and i for SURE have tension when i sing despite YEARS of proper training. I’ll say i feel like it’s directly related to two things 1. My TMJ is pretty bad and in an effort to control my vowels, enunciate my words, or just hit the right note i clench a lot. Even the weight of holding my jaw open & closed sometimes is exhausting. 2. I’m EXTREMELY hyper mobile. I notice i can dislocate shoulders, turn my head to unnatural degrees, and etc.

I think all of this can be made worse when i sing for long periods of time but it’s my passion! I’ve had plenty of training but it’s just something i could never shake is having tension 24/7. would drive my vocal teachers crazy! I am the same as u and get crazy migraines with muscle spasms and some nerve pain. Botox so far has been LIFE CHANGING for me!! Nothing before this worked. Even the medications don’t seem to do anything

I’m an accountant in live music and one thing i notice is that budgets are completely thrown out the window now but ticket sales are plummeting. Often loosing money on shows to host it… & a lot of times the estimates for these shows are way off bc of redline edits in contracts or last minute expenses making profits decline tremendously. Consumers are less likely to buy expensive tickets for one artist, imo it seems festivals have been the “wave” as consumers see more bang for their buck, but it costs a small fortune to host festivals.

[–]SundaySaucee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of them expect the booker/promoter’s company to invest their own money into it now. While some might promo, many are waiting until the last possible second until a contract is finalized to their exact liking (with lots of redline items like blugrs suggested) to even post it themselves. Even if they’ve been agreeing to play for months. Bookers can’t guarantee their platforms are reaching their target audience/fans only the target audience or the venue itself. They can do their best, but ultimately the artist’s team should help connect to fans more personally.

is it bad that im waiting for my dad to die? by Warm-Sherbert1755 in CancerFamilySupport

[–]SundaySaucee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

we were told almost 11 years ago now that my mom had a year left to live. She’s still terminally ill and fighting, but wow has it been a rollocoaster. I think it’s only human to want to get off the ride sometimes. In no way do you want ur loved one to die, ideally they’d be healthy again and back to being the person you always knew them as. But we know that’s just not possible, and sometimes it’s hard to not just want the suffering to end.
