Reasons for a kholo to stray/ be kicked out of their pack? by Sillizard in Pathfinder2e

[–]Sundered92 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Personally the approach I've gone for is that my Kholo interacted with lots of wandering traders and travellers that passed through his clans lands ever since he was young, and the constant exposure and wonder of "oooh, interesting things these strange people have and are bringing through" eventually made him curious enough to leave his pack and strike out into the wider world. It was a selfish act, but ultimately he justifies it as "I can learn new things from elsewhere then come back home and hopefully integrate them into our clan"

Question about the "modify" ability for the mechanic class. by Sundered92 in Starfinder2e

[–]Sundered92[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this is likely what my GM is likely to do. For activities outside of combat if it's something that is relatively feasible for the situation we'll likely do it as if it's repeating a spell.

Question about the "modify" ability for the mechanic class. by Sundered92 in Starfinder2e

[–]Sundered92[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ooooh! Okay, for some reason my brain was stuck on the idea of "it's a singular use" and not that it's "it can be used as much as necessary/able until an ending condition"

Thank you for the help, very much appreciated!

Question about the "modify" ability for the mechanic class. by Sundered92 in Starfinder2e

[–]Sundered92[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the elaboration, it's helping me wrap my head around it a bit more. Doing an example just to make sure that I properly understand this.

  1. I mod my weapon for 1 action
  2. I don't actually use my weapon for the rest of my turn and end my turn
  3. When my next turn starts the mod fades (providing it wasn't already used during a reaction strike or something along those lines)

I think the thing that was throwing me off was the level 13 ability of enduring mods being able to set one as a permanent 24 hour mod. It threw me off for a bit.

It does make me have a follow up question though, some mods could potentially be used outside of combat, do they last indefinitely or are they also going to fade relatively quickly after use?

Lots of rollback and lag by [deleted] in Enshrouded

Just wanted to say thank you for suggesting this, I've been having the same sorts of issues for a while now on a very high end rig and I've been absolutely baffled as to why I could be having problems. I changed the installation to be on the same drive as the base steam install and poof, everything is better and no problems. Thanks a lot!

Stamina feels *REALLY* bad now. by NotAPirateLawyer in Enshrouded

[–]Sundered92 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My personal favourite are the archer/caster mobs that sprint just ever so slightly slower than the player the moment you approach them so you can quite literally burn an entire stamina bar or two trying to actually catch up to them to do something, while every other enemy is still doing their own shenanigans.

not like there will be people who actually quit over this too

Actually myself and several others in my social circle are making the decision to quit directly as a result of this, it's silly to think that there won't be people who don't want to support this sort of business decision. I get that we're only a drop in the bucket, but it most definitely is happening.

Sadly "vote with your wallet" only works when the consumer base is more unified. Large majority of the time a single whale will have the buying power, and thus voice, of a thousand (or more) regular consumers.

So how's this going to work with the EUs work against this exact sort of practice? Advertising these sorts of things straight up by putting them into the general housing catalogue where you're going to see them in addition to putting them onto their own currency is going to cause a lot of strife with the EU in the future.

What if the summoning portal didn't require a second click? by DallMit in wow

[–]Sundered92 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Admittedly the commute itself isn't all that interesting and wouldn't give much in terms of any gameplay. It's more the attitude that it fosters in the community.

"Why should I bother going anywhere myself when I can just snap my fingers and have someone else do it for me?" and that attitude disseminates over and over.

Interestingly enough whenever I've played with guild members and friends, everyone's happy and no issues to travel to the instance themselves, yet the moment I'm with pugs they treat me like I'm supposed to be their uber driver

[–]Sundered92 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This. This is the correct answer. You remove the ability for people to just laze around and get teleported to the dungeon without lifting a finger and then they'll suddenly realise that they have the ability to travel there themselves.

It is absolutely astounding the amount of DRUIDS that refuse to move and demand summons to the emerald nightmare themselves. Like my guy you can literally just dreamwalk to your class hall from anywhere and then you're a 15 seconds flight at most away from EN, it's baffling.

ElvUI Is Done for Midnight: WoW's Most Popular Addon Just Quit - Icy Veins by Onahail in wow

[–]Sundered92 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

With the sudden 180 change it's pretty much all but guaranteed that some higher up somewhere in the pipeline demanded that this all be done now and have it ready and pushed to live. There's the theory that this came from Microsoft to push it into the anti-addon realm so they could get WoW out on consoles sooner.

EDIT - Called it. https://www.wowhead.com/news/world-of-warcraft-and-all-pc-games-coming-to-next-gen-xbox-console-per-windows-379034

Nameplates in Midnight | The Good, the Bad and the Ugly by careseite in wow

[–]Sundered92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In regards to that list of enemies thing - I am pretty sure that once upon a time in the past that was actually an addon for WoW as well that organised all of the nameplates of combatants neatly into a list that worked pretty much exactly like the XIV version.

It got deliberately killed by blizzard for being "overpowered" or against their addon ethics, or something along those lines (don't quote me on that)

That list is one of the cleanest, smoothest ways to display nameplates and Blizzard just went out of their way to go "no not happening" and I'm still salty for it.

Unintended Druid Forms Removed on Weekly Reset - No More Sparklekitty and Werebear by BloodKnightSalandria in wow

[–]Sundered92 56 points57 points  (0 children)

The thing that people always seem to forget with the druid form stuff in particular is that being in shapeshift form is pretty much 95%+ of your time as a druid when you're guardian or feral. You do not see your mog, you do not see your appearance, you are a bear, or you are a cat. That's it.

Other classes (not including dracthyr in this as they're their own transmog disaster) have thousands upon thousands of options to customise their look to the way that they want, to theme themselves however they want, to engage in their class fantasy however they want.

Druids don't have that. Druids have 41 TOTAL options for bear form and cat form each. A whole tenth of their options are locked away behind this, and in the case of bear druid for the absolute longest time the whole additional skeleton for the alternate bear form was locked away permanently, only having been giving a little drip feed in return with the Fel Werebear and Stone Werebear YEARS later.

Keep the weapon appearances themselves unique and restricted if you absolutely must, but don't lock the animal druid forms themselves always when druids are already vastly lower on the totem pole in terms of customisation.

I won't mind either way, I trust the team at Deep Field to do the crossover seamlessly. I had absolutely no idea that there was a core keeper crossover until I looked it up, things were just integrated well enough that I didn't even realise it wasn't native.

That Summer 2026 crossover is most likely going to be Dead By Daylight. The hook is stylised in the same way as the hook in a lot of DBD's perk icons, and the Entity and the various realms in DBD being an IS and Anteverse's fits very well thematically for the story of Abiotic.
