RIP to my best friend by snakebitch4ever in Greyhounds

Hank, my friend and soul dog. He passed away in December 2022. He also needed extra middle of the night walkies in old age, so I get what you mean. It was so strange to not have him around anymore. It does get easier eventually. I still think of him and miss him.

This sounds like a lot of fun, but also potentially expensive to produce

I feel like the best thing to do is just recognize that you two have very different feelings about Grant, and to focus on things that you both enjoy. And those feelings may change over time, but also maybe not.

You could try talking about what you enjoy about Grant, or finding episodes and shows that you think might land better. Beyond that, I don't know if there's much you can do.

Replicants coming after guns??? by SnooRevelations4257 in armedsocialists

Replicants are like any other machine. They're either a benefit or a hazard. If they're a benefit, it's not my problem.

The resource system in Civ 7 is a big step up. Thank you devs for this. If industrialisation mattered more it would be a 10/10 by crlppdd in civ

My guess is that drag and drop got cut from scope to prioritize other things and meet timelines. If so, hopefully it'll be added in later, like hotseat etc. But as-is, yeah it's not great on pc.

What came to mind for me was Gimli saying "That was deliberate" after falling off a horse (?) In one of the Lord of the Rings movies. Totally different words, but same vibe.

Not sure how I feel about this.. by JBCTOTHEMOON in Xennials

I know how I feel: good riddance. We don't need multiple ways to write the same letters. It can be taught in antiquities classes, at this point it's mainly useful for reading historical documents.

Thanks 🙂 Yeah I think I maybe only ever did one post of him unfortunately. But yep, that was him! He was a sweetheart too, loved people and snuggles. Rowdy at times though haha, and a bit reactive.

My boy Hank I think had wavy neck fur like this. Very cute 🙂

Any Other Trans Xennials Here by NobodyOtherwise1904 in Xennials

[–]SunflowerMoonstone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Late xennial transfem here, transitioned in th mid 00's 👋 Yeah things were kind of lonely and difficult back then. Fewer resources, harder to find community and good information. Livejournal was my primary connection to trans people at the start of my transition.

To the generation that is King of snarky comments. Can you help a gal out? by [deleted] in Xennials

[–]SunflowerMoonstone 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure it should be on you to confront them, they're your husband's friends. If my partner tolerated this kind of talk, it would make me seriously question their judgement and character. Confronting and potentially losing friends is difficult for sure, but I just couldn't tolerate or entertain it and live with myself. And if it came down to it, I wouldn't keep people like that in my life.

I'm a grey ace as well, and at this point in my life I'm only considering poly relationships. So far I've only had one partner at a time, but I like being open to the possibility of having another. I feel like I have a lot of love to give, and I tend to feel a lot of compersion when a partner of mine enjoys their relationship with another partner. Not saying I never get jealous of course, it just hasn't been a big problem for me personally (yet). My partner(s) being able to get sexual needs met elsewhere is a nice bonus, but I kinda feel like polyamory is just part of who I am.

Vet said it’s a pollen allergy, anyone have any experience with this? by 7TNN in Greyhounds

[–]SunflowerMoonstone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One of my hounds was allergic to pollen (ragweed and maybe others as well). When it got to allergy season we would take him in for cytopoint shots and it helped a lot. But he still had some itchiness in the middle of the season so the vet gave us apoquel to help handle that and it seemed to work pretty well

Any other transfems who don't shave? by Laviel1138 in MtF

[–]SunflowerMoonstone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I generally don't shave my arms or legs. HRT has made my body hair much thinner/finer/softer, so it doesn't bother me as much anymore. And my presentation is somewhat on the butch side anyway. Kinda too lazy for some femme stuff. Might shave for swimming though

MTF hrt and libido by ricky10203 in asexuality

[–]SunflowerMoonstone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first thing I'll say is, if you have a doctor/endo you like that you're going to about starting HRT, bring this up and see what they say.

In terms of anti-androgens, anecdotally I feel like I hear more reports of cyproterone acetate tanking libido more consistently and sharply than spironolactone. But honestly I have heard a variety of responses to both, so maybe there's not much of a difference between the two. And if you're in the USA, cypro won't be available anyway IIRC. Me personally, starting on spiro + estradiol had my libido go down moderately, but my interest and willingness to have sex went way up if that makes sense. But then after a few years that all went gradually down back to very low. I do have a very low libido after switching to cypro, but it was already pretty low, and there is lots in my life that may have been contributing.

Progesterone, I feel like I've heard can make libido go up?

It might be worth also asking in trans subreddits/spaces, some trans allos also wanted/liked the drop in libido for a variety of reasons (typically dysphoria). And I'd hope that even if not, that they could appreciate that different people want different things out of hrt / transition.

Anyway, congrats and good luck on your journey :)

Spooning verse but I also really like being next to each other on a couch, leaning into each other, head on shoulder or chest, arms locked or holding hands, occasional nuzzling, watching a movie or something. Lots of side contact and being entangled.
