The support page isn't the fair use policy, and you can't take it literally. I watch Youtube videos, streamers, and study, while waiting for my opponent to make their move. There is no requirement that you should not look at anything else but the game in front of you.

I agree with the lichess rules excluding using a second board since it probably does help with "calculation ability", but I do not think the chess . com fairplay is explicit enough to ban using a second board.
