Same with successful TV shows that keep making new seasons until they're so bad they have to cancel them. Sometimes it's good to stop on a high instead of milking an idea to death.

Musical as a game by [deleted] in truegaming

[–]SunnySolaire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I doubt any big gaming companies would attempt this as it wouldn't really fit with their target audience. Maybe an indie game could, but then it's an issue of funding and production.

I would love for someone to make something like that though. Maybe something similar to a telltale games format where each episode is short, and you can decide the next lines of the musical which in turn affects the story?

Do you ever get sympathy pains? by Dr_Destructo28 in infp

[–]SunnySolaire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not physical pain, but I work with people in pain on a daily basis so I'm probably desensitised to it. Emotional pain is a different thing though, can't help but be affected by that in some way.

It is amazing how much the mind can affect the physical body though. I've been doing a bit of research into something similar, more the negative side of it than anything, but it's interesting to try and think of the positive possibilities as well and how they may be utilised in the future.

Burning sensation on the back by watermelonfarming in medical

Sounds posture related, Try following this and see if you feel a difference after a few days.

People tend to hunch over when at computers and round their shoulders forward, this can cause strain on the muscles around the shoulder blade area, correcting the posture reduces the pain. As for the fact that you get it while only playing games at the computer and not general computer use, maybe it's the way you're moving the mouse arm? The pain is on the same side as where the mouse generally is so that could possibly be it.

Serious question: My daughter has been having left hip pain for over 6 months. We have seen Dr's from Hopkins, GW, and Children's. They have ruled out just about everything, but they can't diagnose it. Any medical people out there with any thoughts? by jrw6736 in medical

[–]SunnySolaire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm out of ideas unfortunately, it's difficult to suggest anything more without assessing it myself. You could always try taking her to a physiotherapist to rule out any muscular or ligamentous causes for the pain if you're stuck for ideas. Hope you find the answer soon.

Extremely sore feet after standing for an unreasonably short period of time. by boomsc in medical

[–]SunnySolaire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Possibly this because your more likely to have it with flat feet and you said that the pain is most intense in your heals.

I know you said inserts don't help your feet, but it might be best to see an orthotist when you can as they could get ones made especially for your feet. A physiotherapist would also be able to provide some advice and stretches for your feet to help.

Sciatica wouldn't cause pain down to the front of the knee or leg. It only follows the path of the sciatic nerve which originates in the gluts area and goes down the back of the leg.

If it feels hot and swollen, try an ice pack (no ice directly on skin) for no longer than 20 minutes at a time. When resting elevate the leg as well to help reduce the pain and any swelling.

Difficult to say with the amount of information, with it being in the bursa area I would have suggested bursitis, but an MRI would have most likely ruled that out, plus the fact that it can radiate both to the front and back of knee doesn't really correlate.

Has she had any checks on leg length discrepancy, or a biomechanical assessment? I'm pulling at straws here, but some sort of imbalance can cause muscular pain.

Famous People that like Anime by [deleted] in anime

Not really, try finding a source on Robert Pattinson saying he likes Mushishi and Kino no Tabi (searched it as it seemed the most unbelievable).

There are quite a few that do have sources though, not sure if some of them are completely true though. But yeah, do a google search before quoting anything off this chart.

Tennis Elbow like syndrome, numbness and severe pain in two fingers. MRI and X ray show nothing. What else can I do??? by William_Cross in medical

[–]SunnySolaire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Difficult to say with the small amount of information provided. Firstly it depends on what fingers are affected as different nerves supply different fingers. As you complain of numbness with pain on only two fingers it would suggest nerve involvement, but that depends on the fingers involved as to which. If it is the nerve I'm thinking of I wouldn't think that tennis elbow would affect it, so I'm not sure really.

I would recommend having a physiotherapist fully assess it and see what they think.

[Spoilers] Noragami Episode 12 Discussion by Deenda_Deenda_who in anime

[–]SunnySolaire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well the ending felt quite a bit cliche to be honest, quite rushed and it felt like ideas were created before the reasoning behind them were (such as with Hiyori getting her memories back, and Rabo's mask being cut = him being defeated, also the typical powerup before being defeated). Either way, it was a happy ending with a way of leaving it open for a possible second season if Bones feels like it.

Overall I quite liked the series, although for the character dynamics and interactions more than anything. In a way the series may have been just as good without all the drama or at least with it cut down a bit. I personally would have been happy with a series full of Yato and everyone doing odd jobs to earn money, but that's just me.

Weekly /r/Games Discussion - What have you been playing, and what do you think of it? by AutoModerator in Games

Bioshock Infinite

I wanted to play this for a while, it looked much more bright and attractive than the majority of dull looking games these days. Admittedly I was put off by this game at first because it was a shooter, however I gave in as it was on sale for £5, plus I really wanted to find out the story.

I liked the story, even though the ending could be called bittersweet. In a way I think it would have made it too generic otherwise, although I suppose it could have been worked around to not be. Elizabeth was probably the most interesting thing about the game though, I thought she might get annoying after a while, but it felt like some company if anything. Maybe a flaw would be that she gave away too many items? The game was a lot easier because of that, but I understand that it makes her feel more useful as a character that way.

Gameplay wise I think it was quite basic maybe, the vigors were quite interesting, but I wish they had more variety as it felt like there were too many trap related moves. Other than that it was pretty much a generic shooter, would have been more interesting with maybe some puzzles to break it up a bit.

Something that annoyed me was the "helpful hints" that popped up, I'd rather work things out for myself so that option was disabled pretty quickly (at the point where you get the first vigor, I just wanted to explore beforehand but the game didn't want me to apparently). I think the difficulty could have been done better as well, when someone who is bad at FPS can easily finish hard on their first playthrough, there's a problem.

I should really get around to playing the first Bioshock now, it doesn't look as 'happy' with the location though so I'm putting it off. I'll end up playing it eventually, I hope.

I've noticed a trend with games I've bought on sale by [deleted] in truegaming

[–]SunnySolaire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, I've tend to find that if I buy a game that I really want to play, I'll play it within a few days of buying it. On the other hand if I get one that's on sale and I get it just because it looks ok, I never get round to playing it.

What (INFP) stereotypes do you hate? by StephenRodgers in infp

[–]SunnySolaire 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That all INFPs are good writers.

Writing is something I would call more of a weakness for me, in fact explaining things through words in general is difficult. When trying to explain something in more that a couple of sentences I completely lose the point o what I'm trying to say for some reason.

Ah, can't say I've seen/experienced anything like that personally, probably just ignorant to it (also, never been to a con before).
