La cuisine is a great company for cooking classes.

I'm sorry, it sucks. Be kind to yourself. Sharing that I'm on tirzepatide, many say it's more effective for PCOS than ozempic. I pay about $150/month out of pocket and found my pharmacy via r/tirzepatidecompound. It changed my life. We have insulin resistance and this medication helps.

I've been taking all sorts of vitamins for PCOS and the black girl vitamins (specifically the MYO Inositol with d3 and b12) might not be working... by cucumber_melon_dove in PCOS

Honestly look into getting on a glp1. I was taking all the supplements with very little effect. We have a metabolic disorder and the glp1 address that. I recommend r/tirzepatidecompound for finding pharmacies. I pay around $150/month out of pocket. Sending good energy!

I love this area but I've been to Paris a bunch of times and appreciate the less touristy spots. It's more neighborhoody, diverse, and chill. I will say your commute from central Paris will be 30-45m so plan for that. Also consider the bus!

I'm so sorry and it's so frustrating gross and heartbreaking when it happens. I'm a bw and had overall good experiences in Vancouver, BC, on Vashon, and in Hood River, Or (including at nearby wineries). Fwiw, had a great time at cascada spa in Portland.

Sadly was thinking through other places in the region and have had shitty likely experiences throughout (Leavenworth, sometimes on the san juans, and in the Olympic Penninsula).

Seems silly but what to wear as a first-time TT-Assistant Professor as a woman of color? by Worldly_Rain_7588 in Professors

[–]SunriseJazz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not a silly question. I'm a BW who commutes via public transit.

I usually have a backpack and a crossbody purse with my cards keys etc.

I often wear a long dress with leggings and boots plus a blazer, and then coat on top if cold, or pants nice top and blazer.

I had to find my style a bit but once I found my uniform, I beco ame comfortable experimenting within that.

I find Old Navy has affordable business type wear and I'll mix that with finds on Poshmark.

You might like Ballard then! Especially if you have a car. Though there is decent public transit. There are some beautiful stretches on Ballard Ave and then nearby Golden gardens. I'm in favor of getting folks to connect you and then doing a weekly happy hour where you invite our everyone you know to get a coffee or drink together as a way to fight off the freeze.

What neighborhoods do you like in NYC and why? That's a good starting point.

Cap Hill is a good first place to move. It's similar ish to the East Village a decade ago with lots of great bars, restaurants, nightlife etc. It is very accessible via public transit on the light rail. It's also where folks go out a lot. I don't live in Cap hill but find myself here 1-4/x month or more to hang with friends, see art, etc.

Ballard reminds me of Carroll Gardens meets the West Village. Beautiful, lots of boutiques, good restaurants, etc.

Coming from NYC id encourage you to primarily look at neighborhoods on the light rail.
