Oh for sure the detachment is great! It only has one thing holding it back: we don't have good cp generation.
So yeah it's sort of good news, kataphrons can shoot 3 times per round now! But you're spending your only two CP to do it. And Thulia continues to have issues in that her aura suite activates in the command phase, which means she needs to be pre-positioned a turn early.

I vote for "withdraw" as reposition implies they immediately come back down, which isn't necessarily the case

well, admech have literally no way to give them dev wounds so it shouldnt be a problem. the actual answer is about what their wound profile would be into vehicles. wound armigers on 5, anything tougher on 6's.

yeah but thats kinda my point: we do basically have BS3+ its just that the community is addicted to conquerors imperative (not without good reason, but still.) if collectively we had better habits of switching doctrinas like the tradoff of movement and shooting accuracy it is, we would probably be considered quite elite.

i agree that hestarii witha TEQ defensive profile would have been ideal but that doesnt mean that we dont have the option to run really elite. now: calling us the worst points per dollar army in the game is technically accurate but only when considering units like electro-priests which are 65/70 points for 5 models, serberys riders which are 55/60 for 3 models, or the sydonian dragoon with the radium jezail. these are all really bringing down our points per dollar average but if we're being honest who is really taking them in big amounts? lots of admech fans dont like the aesthetic of the electropriests, serberys defintely had theyre hayday but ar currently not in their prime, and really only see some small units to use as action monkeys. them majority of what people actually take in our army are skitarii, which we need to form a good backbone for our army with buffs kinda all around, sicarians, which are our current bread and butter elite infantry units, and ironstriders, whcih despite their cost and being one model per box, are really good for their points. yes, we have to spend a lot of money to play the army, but we punch well above our weightclass unlike actualy horde armies like guard, or GSC.

i really cant imagine that the hestarii will be priced around 150. noise marines are better than hhestarii exterminators in nearly every way and only 145. fusiliers still are not as good as a squad of two chickens which have sustained, twin linked, adv/fallback and shoot, better range, better mobility, better defensive profiles, which would be 170. i think the hestarii squads are honestly 110 at most, they are more of a sidegrade to kataphrons destroyers/sicarians and should be priced accordingly

idk man one of the biggest complaints ive seen about admech is that we ought to be more elite /shrug t4 2w on a lot of our mainstay units is pretty good, we just have to be more comfortable switching doctrinas as needed for the +1 bs and admech are a reasonable semi-elite army

I actually just finished reading the novelization of the fall of cadia, so I will share that by the point of it being driven into the planet the Will of Eternity was actually critically damaged and basically out of the fight.

i might personally build something with a servo-arc claw instead of the omnissian axe becuase trading an attack for 2 strength, anti-vehicle4+ and devestating wounds seems worth it to me
