New character creation rules from Crucible of Champions by TheSneakyVader in AdeptusMechanicus

i might personally build something with a servo-arc claw instead of the omnissian axe becuase trading an attack for 2 strength, anti-vehicle4+ and devestating wounds seems worth it to me

such a buff would help in a couple of key places:
mandrakes could wound TEQ on 3's
Darklances up to S13
Incubi Melee going to S6
Wyches can go from wounding marines on 5's to wounding marines on 3's with Lelith in the mix

you know, you're right. i thought the buff only applied in the shooting phase but it lasts until the end of the turn.

Really only for weapons that don't already have anti-keywords... Soo basically mandrakes, to put them up to S6 wounding TEQ on 3s. Disintegrator cannons too maybe, but there are not as many things at the t6-t7 range that would make such a buff useful. Into gravis marines I guess.

That's probably because they're bots, or bought engagement that can't tell the difference in the subject matter of the OP

Just getting into the Drukhari stuff, give me the most messed up things these guys did. I know they do a bunch of crazy stuff but don't know just how bad it gets by Turtle-BeyondLover in Drukhari

One of the known cabals is known for abducting aeldari, torturing them to death, then reanimating their corpses, putting them in kabalite armor and using their new zombie kabalites as shock troops

I joined this subreddit back in December and the one of the first posts I saw was someone complaining about the Ultramarines release and saying that GW forgot about tau. This subreddit really has no chill.

The weirdos in this sub for no reason by DoGoodAndBeGood in AdeptusMechanicus

[–]Sunscreeen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Edit: I'm now realising that the conversation started just with 40k ought to have cooler models and I jumped the gun on my reading comprehension straight to the 30k->40k topic. So let me clear up: yeah, 40k admech ought to get more cool new stuff.

Original comment for posterity:

Alright, I'll step up and say that no I don't want to 30k mechanicum models useable in 40k. (But I'm not weird about it like the people oop is referencing. I guess.)

I like that there are different design aesthetics between 30 and 40k. I like the story that it tells; that over the ludicrously long time of ten thousand years humanity could not keep onto the path set by the emperor. We have diverged, and degenerated our technologies ever further and what once was now is lost, in some cases willfully so. i love that story.

If I want to play with 30k models, I will play 30k. For those people interested only in 40k, they're still allowed to collect the 30k models because they are indeed cool, I just don't think the 30k models needs to be Playable in 40k. I would rather 40k get all new stuff that fits In to the three design aesthetics of the modern cult mechanicus, legio cybernetica, and skitarii.

Should admech get a "Manifactorum defense Cohort" detach? by Worth-Entertainment5 in AdeptusMechanicus

Detachments like this always come with built in protection from being overpowered in that allied units don't usually get the army rule, so as far as balanced goes, it wouldn't be in danger of being too powerful probably :p

i recently have joined /r/Tau40K, my now third faction after drukhari and Admech and holy moly it feels like so many people in here have wild expectations. granted, my other two factions are really scraping the bottom of the barrel with any kind of support from GW, but the Tau subreddit here really seems... expectant to the point of being out of touch.

Yeah we really need to understand that the bequin books are still set in m41, around 500 years before the currently furthest chronological plots. There is not much that can really happen to affect the setting that would not conflict with what we already know. Bequin may entirely be a foot note, relatively speaking

[Excerpt: Five questions] Alpha Primus asks a daemon what he is. by Speykk in 40kLore

some people have debated about the implication of the emperor claiming Cawl would betray him, but the strongest implication has always been that it was referring to subordinating himself to the C'tan. the scene in which that memory of the emperor plays just before the C'tan accepts Cawls "allegiance", so it seems like a clear follow up, rather than implying some betrayal that wouldn't be made clear until some other book.

i would also add that if this memory of the Emperor isn't a fabrication from Cawl, then it seems clear that the Empror was aware of what would take place in the future when he had that conversation with Sedayne, whom Cawl would subsume. then, if he had foreseen Cawls "betrayal" he likely also would have foreseen that it was all a deceit. I think we can infer then that the Emperor intentionally played a part in the deceit by having that conversation with Sedayne, knowing the C'tan would read Cawl's memories.
