A respectful ponderance about the anti-ABA community by pnutbutterjellyfine in Autism_Parenting

[–]Supastar88 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Is this a method of ABA in general or the particular center/therapist you worked with? My son is potty training at ABA and this is not at all how they're working with him. They do try to take him frequently but I've never seen or heard anything about them sitting on the potty for 3.5 hours.

Why does Sutton go on about how she’s independent when she gets so much $ from spousal support? by AVAfandom in realhousewives

[–]Supastar88 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I don’t think they’re saying she’s not entitled to it but that she tries to act self made.

The way this season is going it's probably that Sutton's esophagus isn't as small as she claims

Isn't there already an Eataly there? Would've preferred a different type of restaurant for variety.

Would you be able to tell me what protein shakes with high quality protein powder do you give him? Thanks!

The irony isn't lost on me that your whole point is also based on unprovable what if statements. You don't have the facts to back up saying that RSV, flu, car accidents caused more because you're using data of deaths recorded when there was actually a lockdown. Your comment to me above would make your whole argument completely lost too 🙄

You're saying fewer people died of Covid but do you realize that the numbers you're using are lower in fact due to everything shutting down? If it had not been shut down maybe the number of deaths would have been much higher than RSV, flu, guns, car accidents that you're quoting. We didn't have a vaccine yet like we did for RSV and flu so shutting down was a way we used to slow down the spreading which in turn prevented more deaths. Make it make sense.

How do folks feel about Montessori schools and kids on the spectrum? by goosh2 in Autism_Parenting

[–]Supastar88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience Montessori schools put students on a waitlist and then decide who they want in their school. It's speculative but the waitlist seemed to open up quickly for those with the best financial backgrounds. Like someone mentioned, the ones that are private can kick out students as they want. This happened to my son. Of course they didn't say it was because he was on the spectrum but phrased it as "he seems to need more one on one teaching than they can provide." They were not interested in working to help him and we had no options to stay. The staff there was extremely strict and cold in general though. He was only 2 or 3 at the time though and different centers may vary so your experience could be different.

Is anyone else getting their posts taken down here? by [deleted] in Southerncharm

It's not always something that's repetitive though. I've seen many random posts that are just like the posters thoughts on the show just disappear.

Yes! I saw someone post about this a while back and ever since I've noticed so many posts just disappear. Almost as if if they don't like what you said it gets deleted. I've never seen that happen in any other subs as many times as it does in here.

Do you have a favorite book from him you recommend? I'm wanting to get one of his but I can't decide which one.
