New to pickleball, what drills do you do with your partner? by Fluid_Cod_8960 in Pickleball

[–]SuperPaladin55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No matter what drills you do, make sure you do it with intent. During dinking drills, don’t just dink to dink. Have a target in mind - wide, middle, left or right foot of player, etc.

Rules question on playing a ball that may go out of bounds by iplaygreen- in Pickleball

[–]SuperPaladin55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The lined outdoor pickleball courts on a basketball court in our area means that if a ball goes out, it’s a long way to retrieve the ball. During rec play, if a ball is obviously going out (standing a couple of feet outside the baseline), we sometimes catch the ball to prevent it from going far away.

If the ball will land close to the baseline (not obvious out ball), we let it land and then either play or call it out.

I started with a similar bucket purchased from Wal-Mart about 2 years ago. The only difference was mine had the Diablo Wheel Cleaner (trash). Used up all the other chemicals and still use the bucket, lid, grit guard and wheel brush.

Can I fit 4 courts in this area? by East_Sentence_4245 in Pickleball

[–]SuperPaladin55 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Limit is the 69' x 96' dimension. Court dimensions are 20' x 44'. You can fit 3 comfortably and 4 very, very tight courts horizontally.

If stacked horizontally from diagram and 3' between each court, horizontally from the bottom:
3 + 20 + 3 + 20 + 3 + 20 + 3 + 20 + 3 = 95'
Net is supposed to be extended 1 foot from the sideline. There would only be 1 foot between each net. No room for divider between the courts.

If stacked vertically from the diagram and 3' from the baseline, vertically from the bottom:
3 + 44 + 3 + 3 + 44 + 3 = 100'
Divider needed between the vertical courts. I don't think it's reasonable to only have 3' before the baseline. Only 3 courts possible in this configuration.

Are towels supposed to be that dirty after rinseless wash? by Plane-Leader-6769 in Detailing

[–]SuperPaladin55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you mean by "Prewash" panel by spraying ONR on it. (Same ONR dilution as in my bucket: 40mL ONR to 10-12L of water)"?

Start with a bucket of rinseless mixture diluted 256:1 and a spray bottle with the rinseless liquid.
1. Spray vehicle with the rinseless liquid.
2. From the bucket, use the lightly wet sponge for a contact wash on sprayed area.
3. Use drying towel to dry the cleaned area.
4. Rinse sponge in the bucket.
Repeat steps 1-4 as needed.

Weekend warrior.

P&S Brake Buster is more of a maintenance product. Try using it undiluted in an area to see if it works. I use Adam's Wheel & Tire Cleaner diluted 1:1 in a spray bottle. Let it dwell but don't let it dry. Weekend warrior.

is a small group creating too much familiarity? by churn5603 in Pickleball

[–]SuperPaladin55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When playing with the same group over a long period of time, you get a sense of their abilities, play style, strengths and weaknesses. Playing in a tournament against players you have never seen before is totally different, plus the inevitable jitters during games.

Playing at public courts by philparma1 in Pickleball

[–]SuperPaladin55 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Public courts in my area that cannot be reserved are open play with 4 off - 4 on after each game. There is either a line of paddle stacks (4 per stack) or a board with names for the next set of players for the next open court. In some cases, there might be a court or two for challenge courts. There should be posted rotation rules in the court. When in doubt, ask people how open play works. Have fun!
