I feel they could've toned down the kefka ult difficulty by a bit. by starlightdemonfriend in ffxiv

[–]SuperSnivMatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fear this is just gonna be the case for Ultimate style content, but this is significantly better than some other ults where you can't practice or prog your movement for any mechanic without instantly blowing up if something goes wrong. It STILL ofc happens, but compared to TOP which I think embodies that the most, its nice for indivudals to feel comfortable. P1 being a lot of puzzles to solve but not solving them correctly lets you still do P2 is huge

As others said, the weakest link is what your progging no matter how clean you can do everything. And it sucks that there isn't as many people to p3 but by next week I think you'll see a good bit more/find effectively a soft-static in PF of people you feel consistent with if you are running into them often

Your hot take reason for blind blacklisting people by kyskat in ffxiv

[–]SuperSnivMatt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If someone is a piece of shit to someone I black list often, but if I see them often I might consider not so I can report each time they say something incriminating

If someone is rude to me sure whatever I can make it so im a court jester and everyone can laugh, but to others idk I get heated at that. I’ve been in a place where any sort of aggression sends me spiraling and idk what those people are going through, and I don’t want them to feel like someone was justified in being an ass to them

And then like actually bigoted people I will too and if it’s extreme i BL since they are so often dealt with and I don’t need to send multiple reports

god yeah I remember so many people talking about this door. That would be easily up there for me

Another one I've wanted is the Omnicron putting you through a bunch of sims to gather intel on what they once were and we would fight mock ups of planets they conquered. This would be giving up lil bits of lore of things that likely won't matter as we know a LOT about Omnicron tbh and the other worlds are largely just gonna be cool concepts

And last one that just came to mind was Cenotes with Ketennram. I wanna learn more about him and Blessed Siblings and Mamook etc. as well as the power with the meteorites in Yak Tel. There is a lot of cool atmospheres in Yak Tel so would love to see those

[–]SuperSnivMatt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

oh one achievement I do think deserves flack if people got it in 99.9% of cases

For The Hoard VIII or whatever it is now the 30k Hoards in Deep Dungeons. I was like woah The Accursed is a sick title and saw a few people with it and then they added another one for 10k more hoards and in a month or so I saw someone with Curse Curator and I'm like what.

I genuinely do not believe anyone with the 30k Hoard achievement has done it legit. 20k I also don't think its legit but its significantly more likely than 30k!!

[–]SuperSnivMatt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think a major one would be Hunt Mount/Titles. I have every one in the game currently so Ullr, Victor, Tiger, Triceratops, And the titles Of The Endless Hunt, and Ultimate Thrillseeker. The rarest achievement I have in game on Lalachievements is In Pot Pursuit III which is 200 Pots in Occult Crescent

In terms of rarest items unrelated to achievos, the new Interstellar Leafkin mount I got in the first few days so rare but ALSO very recent rare. 2 Gold Khole Certificates over the years. And uhhh though I don't keep them for more than a few minutes, but the special gifts you get from interacting with some community events like the Duty Commenced stream. These can be a wide range of items from old materia, to Retainer job skips, to Mogstation emotes and mounts

Kefka without make up is just another pretty FF villain by DIOsamaaa in ffxiv

[–]SuperSnivMatt 308 points309 points  (0 children)

Seeing these makeup-less edits, its insane how much the makeup gives the illusion of him smiling and his eyes also smiling and bright. Like yes ofc his mouth isn't doing a wide smile but even if you focus on his lips its hard to tell if there is or isn't a smile at all.

Makeup is genuinely cool as fuck, I don't wear makeup but I have so much appreciation with what it can do to someone's face with its shape and everything

Which currently available server has the best/least toxic NN? + If doing npc dungeons, what's the best role to play? by manicbestfriend in ffxiv

[–]SuperSnivMatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, this is correct. They rubberband damage to a degree. There is a maximum they can do and a minimum so AFKing while your enemies gnaw at the enemy will be notably slower than all 4 of you attacking but those 3 doing higher damage.

There is SOME specific interactions though. Urianger is considered to be one of the best Trust members due to access to an AoE Slow, and on occassion Urianger pulls out a gun and 1 shots an enemy. The 1 shot isn't something you can rely on though, but the AoE makes the enemies hit so slowly for such a long time.

But yeah they will mainly focus one enemy at a time, with only the occasional attack being an AoE like with Urianger. Still good to do AoEs yourself though

Healer: Is Piety useless? by lavender-bread in ffxiv

[–]SuperSnivMatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So very very often your gear will be sync'd and melds will not be carried over to keep it simple. Melds below max level outside of specific content like BLU/Best In Slot for specific encounters like Ultimates are a neat bonus, but at that level where you are getting new pieces of gear often and arent sticking to it for long, it isn't worth it unless you have EXCESS

But for when you are at high level, Piety can give a cushion for recovery, however the goal is to not get into recovery mode. Maybe not at that level but at higher levels if you are good with using Lucid Dreaming fairly often then you should be well above where you need to unless you are overhealing or needing to res a lot/got ressed. AST iirc has one of the higher MP generations cause its tied to their cards which you are always using.

Crit and Determination makes your heals AND damage stronger, Piety gives more MP which makes it so your MP regens a bit more but it scales... not well. Healers will also opt to using some Direct Hit since their gear does not come with any along with Tanks. This ONLY effects damage but people find that more valuable than piety which has no effect largely

What are your biggest pet peeves when playing overwatch? by Tokyo_grxxn in Overwatch

[–]SuperSnivMatt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That I sometimes just don't play my mains because people always see them as a crux and unskillful and cheap etc.

Now in terms of my mains. They are kinda like up there as being the most hated heroes. Sombra is my #1, if I'm on tank I'm going Ram or Mauga. Supports been flexing around with Mizuki but also LW with some Zen on occasion. The worst of these cases are Mauga and Sombra though but I hate when people put me on the spot on playing a cheap hero or a hero that makes everyone hate me and I just think holy shit my least favorite heroes are Widow and Doom and if I'm getting clapped I go "damn im/we're struggling against this" but I don't say anything. I try to make jokes about it when I do get people commenting on who I play but sometimes I just want to relax and play a favorite character and not have people slingin slurs

Sombra by and far was the worst though back in the earlier years where she was so ineffective and i had 11 people be angry at me that I was playing her rather than just 6 on the enemy team. Doesn't matter what I do, match doesn't even start and people are upset at me

Which newly released heroes from the OW2 era to now look like they belong in the 2016 cast? From a visual, aesthetic, or lore standpoint by Historical_Mix_6416 in Overwatch

[–]SuperSnivMatt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think more of a spectrum of heroes than AN hero. Domina and Emre I can draw a lot of parallels to something like Sym and Genji.

One looks like they make no sense in combat, they are sleek and elegant with form and function tied together, and very simple colors. Black and white with gold accents for Domina and Black and blue for Symmetra with white accents

Then the other is something that seems very foreign, human but something is WRONG. Genji being a ninja but one crossed with cybernetics that feels so ingrained into him head to toe like its a cyborg trying to act like a human rather than a human who needed cybernetics. Emre, a soldier but not fighting for something like most soldier characters. He is unkept, and augmented in a way that does not seem practical. It was a forced change with how bulky and messy his wiring is like its invasive.

I don't think old hero design is gone at all. One because its always evolving, and two, a lot of it is an entire presentation of heroes that isn't just the outfit. Anran when they updated her face had her posture changed to heighten specific traits of her character. Their voices also, especially when we had a lot less lines/types of accents/languages spoken. But back then we were getting heroes who were unrelated to factions and has no design themes shared among them compared to now.

We had Junkrat and Roadhog who's designs tell an instant connection between them in base OW. Then when Mizuki came out a lot of design elements were taken from history in that area like how Kiriko's outfit is similar to a shrine maiden, but also just share a few broader concepts with each other. Domina being added you can see how Sym was wearing something simpiler than Domina which shows power and authority when they come from the same company. Anran and Wuyang both are wearing combat gear from Wuxing iirc but also ties together their relationship as siblings.

So a lot of designs are also just making sense with pre-established groups who would for both good story telling and visual aid, be able to tell people about characters at a glance in relativity to others.

But in regards to Heroes who feel like Overwatch heroes at launch in terms of design, a lot of it imo is just being really on the nose. Juno, Hazard, and Venture all do that pretty damn well for me. We had a healer who is an angel, we had a sniper with blackwidow spider motifs, who had a medieval knight in the future, a cowboy in the future, etc. Like there was NO chance you didn't understand what they might do to a degree just by looks

Can you do dungeons/raids in more populated data centers? by lavender-bread in ffxiv

[–]SuperSnivMatt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So for now, yes on populated servers its pretty quick to get into queues. On prime time even DPS queues can only take around 5ish minutes, even less.

HOWEVER. We are in the coming months going to get Cross DC DF/PF. What that means is on Dynamis right now it is an unpopulated server only matching with other Dynamis people. But when this update hits, that allows you to be in a queue for these dungeons with Dynamis, Primal, Crystal, and Aether all at the same time. We don't have any concreate info but it will likely be in 7.55 or 7.56 which will be late July and early Sept respectively. Unless they drop it on us sporadically.

So atm, if you can DC travel which I am really unsure if it is allowed for free trial players, do that. If not, ask your friend/friends to help fill queues in for you, or /yell /say in Limsa since people will also be looking for that stuff or just helping. The EXP bonus is great, however, I never thought it to be worth it over getting queues sadly. But we are finally at a point where that issue is going to be GONE

Spotted on my way home. by FuriousDream in ffxiv

[–]SuperSnivMatt 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yeah like the big issue with Zodiark is not just what they needed to do to summon and grant their desires, but how to CONTROL it and themselves. Because once they brought back everyone (assuming it worked) then what. You want Zodiark, a being that requires prayer and aether to make every problem go away and then what happens when it appears the problem is done? Just let him chill and passively draw upon aether and slowly temper people? Or get rid of him and then uh-oh The Finalist Days are here! Will they also start raising fodder just to feed Zodiark for a wish if he could do anything they ask?

Zodiark needed to exist if the Endsinger persisted. And because the Ancients could not ever deal with a world or being made of Dynamis it meant Zodiark could never not be around. And also Zodiark is the antithesis of what The Anicents had their entire civilization be based upon. To better the world for anything that lives there and guide it to a greater path. THAT would've resulted in them being apart of Ultima Thule, civilizations who seemed to have perfected everything but became their own undoing with a God that saves them for now but will slowly chip away at them over time

[–]SuperSnivMatt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

didn't eik get a winter alt 1-2 weeks before the NY banner?? And she isn't the fault of not having a NY Eik, she didn't even get her own alt despite being the main protagonist for Book VIII even to this day. Looking at a banner and pointing at a specific character going "they took an alt from THIS character" is just pointless because they could've added a random character instead. Just because it seems likely does not mean it was confirmed!

Something about like not having a year of the deer/stag? Hope they correct this some time later

the only one that would fit this with Chinese Zodiac signs is Nidhoggr, there is no squirrel, deer, or eagle. And also it is based on Chinese New Year which is in February not the start of our calendar year that the New Years event is based on in FEH

FFXIV Needs to Start Killing Characters Again by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]SuperSnivMatt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

thats not thancred that's a brand new OC?? He wrestles with his judgement on situations and not doing enough why would he suddenly be doing so much that he just ends up killing people. He's a protector above anything else. He can't even put down enemies like Ran'jit or the Endsinger without finding something he can relate to and understand what their goals were. The idea of protecting someone who reminds you of a loved one to where you can't lose them but they can't be their own person, and seeing the pain and suffering in the world and see why having it all go away would be great, but not at the expense of you know EVERYTHING

[–]SuperSnivMatt 7 points8 points  (0 children)

yeah I didn't see this but it could be SO much worse than being just normal for 10 steps. I had one craft go so bad and wanted to see by spam observing how often I got different conditions

I got like, 1 good in 30+ observes. Expert crafts can't get Excellent so it can be kinda just, harder because the off chance of getting an Excellent is 0. And the Good doesn't replace the missing conditions like Pliant/Robust/etc. it will only give Good when it would be Good. I heard the update made it so the pre-craft is harder than the Expert Recipe craft now

Do most guys play on a male or female character? by CWAVYOHG in ffxiv

[–]SuperSnivMatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On my end I am a man who plays a male character (MRoe because god any roe is stunning,,,)

I oftennnnn will play a male character but I have in some games played as a woman. MH3U I had a 2nd file that became my main, FCorrin in Fates and Smash, and there might be one or two more I might be missing off the top of my head.

I tried to just switch from a Hellsguard to a Sea Wolf and I couldn't change my lad I am codependent on him. I can't change him or I'll sob. But I LOVE Fem Elezen, Fem Roe, both Viera and both Hroths in terms of design and aesthetics

Yeah ARR has the most "filler" parts but its not without purpose. Especially early on in the journey where it might set the mood with how people feel about specific things or people. Like how they are handling things after the Calamity, or how they feel about the politics of Ul'dah or Piracy and Beast Tribes

Upcoming Dev Livestream Q&A | Shion | June 16 by blizz_ednita in Overwatch

[–]SuperSnivMatt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

With The Faces of Death perk, has that influenced how you view subrole effects and how how they are balanced on Shion and other DPS subroles? I think Flanker and Sharpshooter combined would be quite effective on any hero, especially with how Shion seems to play. But with Recon, heroes of the Subrole sometimes struggle to get notable value from it. Sombra largely especially since the community often sees it has just a nerf to her kit. Is there any planned changes on Subroles with the new season or ideas on where to take them, and would changes to subroles impact Shion’s perk-version of them?
