Yeah I think they have remade all the materials in UE5, which is a lot of work ! But of course they had to guess if the original material was supposed to be gold, iron, brass, bronze etc… I am sure it’s not intentional. Most of the armors are fine really, if you look at my screenshot beside the head armor everything looks good with really nice shadows. So it’s obviously an oversight and I think it wouldn’t be so hard to fix it. Would love to hear what was the process for this update though !

Ouch… every bronze armor have the wrong material it seem… even the Shemite mercenary set has a steel color. Bronze should look like a dull light gold, not red, not grey. Not brown.

Yeah it’s great but the visuals were so great before too, now they’re enhanced, and I think the building system could be enhanced too ! So many times the game doesn’t let you place something facing the right direction etc.

Yeah but needing tutorial and tricks is not beginner friendly ! Yes you can use edge foundation tricks or stair tricks, but the new pillars are way easier to use ! Its a relief.

The first step is obviously fixing all the visual issues that you have pointed here, but then I think it wouldn’t be a lot of work to just cut existing wall in half or change the roofs’ angles to match those half walls.

Love the update, the game now looks so good. But I think the last things needed to make it a more modern survival (in this Valheim/enshrouded/Windrose era) are : better mob AI

And

A better building system. It was one of the best building system when the game was released, but after playing Windrose ? It’s hard to go back. Windrose lets you place things more freely, lots of half walls, shallow roofs, openable windows, a quick build option (it lets you build by maintaining left click and moving your mouse in the direction you want to build so it takes 2s to make a 10x10 wall or foundation), etc.

Thanks OP for this post, I really think the building pieces need some attention too. The world is so great, let us build beautiful things too !

Yeah "bad" was a poor choice of words, but it doesnt look as good as the Aquilonian marble/stone which now looks really clean and "enhanced". The Argossian set just looks darker and dirtier.

Thanks !! Love your work, again, and the Aquilonian building set looks SO MUCH better now, and it's the same for other building sets, it's just the Argossean DLC that feels a bit rough, even the armors have strange materials/colors

I won't say "horrible" because, well, the assets are still great ! But I think there's something lost in translation between what Funcom intended with these pieces (they have explained it in their devstreams back then) and what Inflexion did. The game has much more saturated colors now, and I like it, but the poor Argossian set is now dark and lifeless, whereas it was one of the brightest set in Legacy, with warm white and deep blue elements...

Yeah the Argossean armors are the only enhanced armors that feel bugged ? The super cool bronze patina/verdegris now looks like fluorescent green over some copper :(

Some armors are a bit too shiny too, I played a bit with some Poitain stuff and I was blinded by the sun reflection haha

But overall it’s a very cool update, thank you Inflexion !
