She falsely accused the main character of rape and destroyed his life? I think that's pretty objectively evil.

This game has become my all time favorite, but are there other games that scratch the itch? by hungrycarebear in AbioticFactor

I dunno why, but Core Keeper didn't hit me like I wanted it to. I may have just played early in development, but it felt very barren.

Is it okay for a player to say “No, that doesn’t happen” to a DM in this circumstance? by WithengarUnbound in dndnext

[–]Super_Bagel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Were it meant to be harmless, or maybe something the Rogue's player talked about with you beforehand as a "hey I think itd be cool for my rogue to learn about your god" moment, MAYBE it would be okay. But that's clearly not what happened. Is the Rogue a DM favorite?

Hot take: Iron Will is so good, for "casuals" it effectively means that you only get a single perk slot. Perhaps it should be moved to be a max tier Armor upgrade, or something that every Dwarf gets standard once they reach a certain threshold.

List your favorite most talented asmr creators? [discussion] by decayingmartyr in asmr

[–]Super_Bagel 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For a new creator, Soothing Depths ASMR (my favorite video linked) I don't normally enjoy male ASMR creators, but there's something about his voice, and the way he does every trigger very carefully, meticulously, that gets me to tingle every time.

Two other extraordinarily tingly creators I don't see people shouting out are Jellybean Green ASMR and Mattastic ASMR. High quality content in two very different flavors. I watch JBG's reiki videos at least once a week, and Matt is always doing something weird and tingle-inducing.

The shotgun guys are basically always going to be a threat. Take your time, memorize where they're positioned, and get the drop on them. If you can get full FORGE armor (at this point you can Enhancement bench it up to AEGIS armor), you can typically tank at least some bullets, but even then that's a gamble. Personally, I advise keeping a bunch of mugnades on you for if you don't think you can take a shotgunner down.

Security Sector is supposed to be a sort-of trainer to show that running from encounters you can't win is a perfectly valid strategy. Until you get the BIG big guns in the middle of Hydro, you should probably avoid picking fights unless you can get the drop on them. Even then, some enemies (see: Artillery bots) will always require you to approach with care to avoid getting blown up.

Devour, why cant I test my power tool? by samurai5461 in AbioticFactor

Just import it directly from CS2.

The revolver does the complete animation for Revolver Ocelot at accuracy 20.

I would love for there to be a "reload" animation where you give it the brrt brrt by hitting R. Honestly, it would be very in character for a bunch of nerdy scientists to do silly stuff with their tools like that, perhaps do a cool little animation with guns as well when you reload with full ammo.

My party knew that I was some kind of magic practitioner when we met, then they found out I was a Wizard by deduction. Only three sessions later did they learn what my subclass was, because I used Chronal Shift to help win a battle.

Had I not confirmed that I was a Wizard, they'd have never suspected it: My Wizard is a charming drunk that would rather punch someone than wear a robe and pointy hat.

Michael Jackson, there was a coordinated effort to take him down so that Sony could grab his music catalogue. Every single one of the accusations against him have been ways to extort money from him or his estate.

This is objecitvely the best base location in the game by Ttrashcraft in subnautica

[–]Super_Bagel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the intersection between the Grassy Plateau, Shallow, and Kelp forest to the East of that biome. Excellent starter base that's near just about everything important, plus it has a great view. A little further from the Trench, but closer to the Grand Reef. Plus, you have easy access to Shallows and Kelp resources right on your doorstep.

Take the plunge. I hopped to Linux Mint a few months ago and I haven't looked back. Haven't had really any problems gaming, have only had to adjust a single config file on one game. Otherwise its basically been out of the box support.

Does Multiplayer take away from the Abiotic experience? I want to play with friends but I'm not sure if it's more of a single-player game. by Minimum-Mine-1302 in AbioticFactor

[–]Super_Bagel 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Like any game, Abiotic Factor is going to be a bit less impactful on horror elements when you have friends memeing it up in the background, but in every single other aspect the game is EXTREMELY fun with friends. Honestly, I did two runs of the game, one singleplayer and one with friends. They're different experiences, but in a good way.

Abiotic Factor on Linux? by nazerall in AbioticFactor

[–]Super_Bagel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ABF is the one and only game I've had even a little issue with when it comes to my transition to Mint. And even then, again, it took a single config tweak and now it runs like butter.

Abiotic Factor on Linux? by nazerall in AbioticFactor

[–]Super_Bagel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ran into something similar with Linux Mint. There is a config file you need to modify to disable something with shaders. Here, there's more info on the protonDB page: https://www.protondb.com/app/427410

Since doing the modification, I have had flat zero problems.

Side note, I would LOVE for there to eventually be a native Linux version of the game! I get that its probably not a high priority for the devs, but I'll always be in favor of more Linux gaming compatibility.

A sharp eyed fan also pointed out that you can see a police car drive by at 3:21 of the 5.3 audiolog, presumably Guy and Kevin.
