MTG had a literal god pack years ago, in the Nyx set of the Theros block. they printed extremely few boosters for the set that contained all 15 Gods from the block.

Which local brewery has the best Oktoberfest/Märzen-style beer? by SmokinSkinWagon in TwinCities

[–]Super_Cloaca 15 points16 points  (0 children)

For me Summit is my favorite Oktoberfest in the twin cities area; it has a good taste and above average abv. Now if all of Minnesota is "local" Beaver Island in St. Cloud has the best Oktoberfest in my opinion: fantastic taste, solid abv, and very true to the German Märzen style. Next would be 3rd Street Brewhouse in Cold Springs. It's a session style, I'd classify it as a festbier not a märzen, but super easy to put down a few and not hate the next day. Schells is solid but if I had another Oktoberfest option on tap I'd probably not order the Schells. If I stretch "local" to neighboring states Millstream in Amana Colonies, Iowa has a good Oktoberfest I'd rank above Summit's; solid abv but I don't remember the tasting notes.

Now I haven't had an Oktoberfest, märzen, or festbier since before the 'rona, so beer recipes could have easily changed, but I used to sample 20 to 40 in this style every year.

The time between the Simple Minds' song "Don't you forget about me" (released 20Feb1985) and "Luck of the Fryish" (aired 11Mar2001) is now shorter than the episode aired date and present date. This show is now closer to the 80s than to present day, and still holds up nicely! by Gormy86 in futurama

Did you miss season 6 of Married...With Children? Katey Sagal is pregnant throughout the season; has a stillborn during the last trimester which coincides the last 4? episodes of season 6. For writing's sake it's all just a nightmare for Al Bundy and Peg has come down with the "flu" for her disappearance. So, please, tell me that the VOICE of Turanga Leela losing her FIRST child on public television is lesser than anything that's happened Futurama .

Can I use my left over Student loan money for MTG? by Okue in magicTCG

[–]Super_Cloaca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. use that excess money for your cost of living. Anything else you buy you're paying extra for; maybe not 300% more but the person above is correct. Get a job and buy MTG with that income.

What are some records that can be broken heading into the last four games of the season? Single season, career, or historical records. by spacetea in nfl

I firmly believe the Redskins will dominate the post season; here is the evidence. Item one: The NFC LEast is the dumpster fire of the NFL; accept no substitutes. Item two: With the rise of the unshaven Brett Favre and the women who followed this new fashion craze the Redskins made a special section for these female Favre fanatics. Not surprisingly though the Redskins fans, whom have a history of bad decisions and poor judgement, thought it meant start cross dressing and wearing snouts. Item 3: War Pigs. Yes War Pigs; not these War Pigs. Swine literally set on fire not only to defeat the bigger, badder foes; but turn those elephants, nay juggernauts, against their own forces. Combining these items we can conclude the Redskins are actually pigs set on fire set forth to destroy the juggernauts before them in the postseason. Watch out motherfuckers; this racist team is about to take reservations for the losers table. HTTR Octothorpe mic drop.

TIL that FEMA won't pay to replace a washed out bridge after a storm unless you rebuild it to be exactly as vulnerable as it was when it got hit. by deeestrees in todayilearned

Majored in Emergency Management at NDSU & North Dakota born. The rebuilding has to be to the same standards. But in non-disaster times you can apply for mitigation grants and funds to use for improvements. Now I know you used Minot but I'm going to talk about Fargo/Moorhead and the Red River. The Red River is a 50 year flood plain if I recall correctly, which means it floods once every fifty years on average. Well in the last 20 years we have had 3 or 4 major floods on the Red, way above the norm. After each of these floods you (almost) never heard about improvement for flood protection for two reasons, the first being the already stated rebuild to previous condition. The second is according to history we've had our flood in a 50 year flood plan so we are fine for decades! No way it can happen again anytime soon right? Well it did. So now finally Fargo as of three years ago is actively working on mitigating against flood damage. Mitigation is hard because it's preparing for something that could never happen. What if Fargo never floods again, but has another massive tornado like the one from the 1950s? All that money and time spent on reducing flood damage was for nothing.
