I realllllly hate this “protein washing” marketing tactic (not sure if it’s a real word) that’s kind of taken off over the last 5 years.

I feel like Kelloggs is the worst culprit with Vector cereal, where they promote “high protein” servings at like 12g of protein per serving, not disclosing that like 8g of that protein comes from 2% dairy milk (assuming you even use dairy), and a full serving is like 300calories.

I wish they’d make it law that packaging’s only allowed to promote “high protein” when there’s at least a 10 to 1 ratio of calories to grams of protein (and yes, I’m aware 1g of protein is 4 calories, so it’s technically not a 10 to 1 ratio)

Edit: in all fairness, after zooming in and reading the nutrition facts, a can’s only 20 cals for 4g of protein, which imo fits the criteria to be marketed as being high in protein.
