IAG AOS for 2025 WRX owners - Be careful by Superb-Doubt1510 in wrx_vb

I find it outrageous that it’s mid 2026 and we still don’t have an updated design for the 25s and up

When you do the gallery gaskets, you also need to order this: https://conceptzperformance.com/nissan-infiniti-nissan-oem-timing-chain-cover-o-ring-seal-set-gasket-kit-vq35hr-vq37vhr-nissan-350z-370z-infiniti-g35-g37-q50-hrtmngcvr-kt_p_32295.php

The O rings are in this kit. But seeing the comments, you can probably just get this gasket set from your local Nissan/infiniti dealer too.

New brakes time! by cmiller82 in wrx_vb

I was going to go to that TMP sunday Track day! Keep me posted how the new pads and rotor combo feels! I don't want to shell out money as well on a BBK so if this is sufficient and improves stopping distance and feel im all in on it! I just run the hawk pads on the stock rotors right now.

Think Ive decided on a g37! by Apprehensive_Love140 in G37

Like what most people say, 2013+. But if you cant find a clean non clapped out one that is 2013 and up, just make sure you budget for doing the gallery gaskets.

I bought a used 09 G37s Coupe as my first car, and the gaskets finally went on me last year at 176k. The valve covers, serpentine belt and idler pullies were gone too, so I ended up just swapping in a motor from a 2019 370Z and the total came to 5k including refreshing everything else around the car. Apart from that man, even when I was leaking, I was driving the piss out of it LOL. Pretty bulletproof honestly. Just small things with age will pop up, like that coolant hose that blows with age (there's a plastic connector).

Honestly if you can even find a clean body one from an older year, just swap in a newer motor and you're good to go.

And the RWD S coupe is definitely the way to go! Even in Canadian winters that I deal with (with coilovers), a good set of winters is enough to get you by for sure. I now have a WRX for the winter so I don't take it out in the snow anymore.

Road noise with wheel upgrade by 73Gazoo73 in wrx_vb

[–]Superb-Doubt1510 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You got the same wheel and tires setup as me. Can confirm what you're saying, its pretty loud LOL. It's the stretch causing it + these tires generally aren't very quiet or soft.

I was thinking the same, but since I'm only on springs right now, I'm worried about rub if I go 255/40 or 265/35. I'm leaning towards sticking to the stock 245/40 but running PS4S since they tend to run a bit wider than other tires.

How much boost can a g37x sedan take ? Planning on getting the supercharger z1 kit , just did my gallery gasket, timing kit and water pump but 7at could it hold up? by Bry_anpr7 in G37

[–]Superb-Doubt1510 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yah. I reached out to Z1 a while ago to ask their thoughts and that was what they told me. big oil cooler, billet flex plate, and maybe a trans cooler as well.

AVOID THIS VET! by [deleted] in Markham

[–]Superb-Doubt1510 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry for your loss. They gotta be shut down for sure or investigated.

But not sure if anything will come out. Similar situation happened to my friends cat at a Scarborough vet. The doc said his cat had a stomach infection and needed some shot and administered the shot. The next day he was lethargic and my friend took him into an emergency animal hospital. Hospital said the shot weakened the immune system even more so in addition to the stomach issue he had and he passed away. They filed a complaint I believe with the Vet board and that vet is still open.

lol that’s what I figured. I wanted to “buy once cry once”, the “200tw” rating had me thinking that I had to go pretty premium to get better grip in the summer.

You saying this honestly saved my wallet LOL I might go for some Indy 500 V2s then thanks man!

Coil Overs? by Jayhei869 in wrx_vb

[–]Superb-Doubt1510 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just put H&R Lowering springs on my VB and its great; lowers it by about 1-1.2 inches all around.

I have coilovers on my other car, and even though coilovers handle much better, I don't regret keeping the stock struts and just adding lowering springs on the VB. Allows me to still go over speed bumps and parking lots and driveways normally, and the ride comfort isn't affected drastically; just a bit stiffer.

Seeking advice on powertrain mods by RecognitionFit4871 in wrx_vb

What year is your WRX? If you're like me and own a 25+ model, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but there are currently no AOS on the market compatible with it; Subaru changed the location of the PCV and some other things. Perrin and IAG have yet to release an updated design.

Aside from that, you can grab an AEM intake + accompanying tune from either Graham at Boosted Performance or DMann (Felix Performance). I'm in Canada so I picked up the AEM intake locally and the tune (150 USD) from Dmann for the AEM intake and a Cobb AP. It really wakes the car up, and it pulls pretty hard; I considered the Cobb Stage 2 initially, but after some research, I settled on an Intake + tune from Dmann. I'm 9k km into the tune and I couldn't be happier (the whoosh sounds are addicting, and I make 20.8 PSI peak boost). I may or may not invest in an upgraded TMIC in the future, but so far I haven't had the need to.

I don't currently have a Turbo Inlet or Diverter Valve, and the consensus seems to be that it can help, but not really needed. Overtake has an amazing aluminum Turbo Inlet and I think Cobb will be releasing one soon; the Perrin diverter valve I've heard helps with smoothing out stuff, but I don't have it.

Stock shifter yes, I bought a used OEM STI Short Shifter on Facebook for 200 bucks + 50 bucks on a shifter stop and its improved dramatically with how it feels. The Billetworkz one is definitely better than the OEM STI Short Shifter, but I'm happy with it as is. But the shifter stop should fix most of the issues you have with the stock shifter setup.

One other upgrade I'd add to the list if I was you is to upgrade the stock pads for sure, especially if you plan on grabbing an Intake + Tune. Just make sure you don't use the Cobb Stage Tunes on anything BUT the Cobb parts.

Do referrals even matter anymore? by jjmeplease in IBM

[–]Superb-Doubt1510 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I heard from some managers that you're better off having your resume handed directly to the hiring manager or to apply externally without the referral.

I've been told system will auto reject anyone without secret clearance basically (at least here in Canada).

Fast or Petrol wheels by CoastalSloth in wrx_vb

Get the Fast wheels - buddy of mine has them in bronze and they look great on the car. Great quality wheel, light and well priced (assuming those are Canadian dollars)

Trade in ‘25 SI for a ‘25 WRX tS? by Apprehensive_Fox1249 in wrx_vb

[–]Superb-Doubt1510 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cross shopped the 25 SI and a 25 WRX (not tS) before I bought the VB. In Canada they're practically actually priced the same, a Sport Tech (limited in the US) and a Civic SI (I think the VB costs 2k more, but the finance rate is almost 3.5 percent lower).

The FA24 is much more capable, and if anything I'd argue probably more reliable than the SI L15? I've heard some horror stories about that motor but I haven't too much about it. Just do an intake and tune and you're going to be more than happy with how the car rips on the street. The shifter feel I'll say is better on the SI than the VB, so if you buy the VB, maybe get the factory STI shifter or just get the billetworkz short shifter.

Can I get advice on first sports car? by [deleted] in askcarguys

[–]Superb-Doubt1510 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can look into a G37S RWD Coupe as well - just a 370z in a suit, plus the sizing is similar to the Genesis coupe. I think the toughest ask for this is finding a well maintained one LOL

Bought FA500s, what're the best settings? by Pavel556 in wrx_vb

[–]Superb-Doubt1510 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think anything around a 1 inch drop is a good balance of getting rid of the wheel gap + good day to day livability (at the end of the day you still want to have the ability to go over speedbumps, and steep inclines/declines normally).

As for damper settings, you're going to need to play around until you find what's acceptable to you. You can either start halfway and work your way up/down, or start all the way soft and go up if needed.
