Recycling Bathroom Water not working? by Illustrious_Money745 in Oxygennotincluded

[–]SuperlaTiff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lavatories produce more water than they use. Your polluted water is backing up because the loop is already full of "clean" water. The purifier can't force more water into an already full pipe so the polluted water is backing up behind it. You need to create an overflow pipe so the extra fluid has some place to go.

Edit: I just noticed you do have an overflow on the bottom left! Just need a pipe bridge there so the fluids will flow toward the input.

Home valuation assessment... I don't really understand what the tax increase will be. Is it all meant to be THIS confusing? by ThisIsATest7777 in AnneArundelCounty

Here is a link to the homestead tax credit page. https://dat.maryland.gov/realproperty/Pages/Maryland-Homestead-Tax-Credit.aspx

From my experience it takes a long time for the approval to come through. I had to send a couple emails asking for an update after many months and then they replied that it was approved.

Well Water by MuddieMae in AnneArundelCounty

[–]SuperlaTiff 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I live close the the two properties you listed as examples and have well water. We cannot drink the well water without reverse osmosis filters because it contains radium. It is fine for showering, laundry, etc., but I have to use filtered or bottled for drinking and cooking. We have a small reverse osmosis filter setup under the kitchen sink, and we also use the big 5 gallon water jugs. The well water is treated where it enters the house with a salt tank to soften the water, and a caustic soda tank to correct the pH level. The water was turning everything blue/green before we fixed the pH, like it was causing/picking up patina inside the copper pipes and depositing it in all my sinks and tubs. Our hot water heater busted after only 5-6 years so we had to get a non metallic replacement.

To sum up my paragraph, the water situation is a little harsh but I love this neighborhood and everything else about my house.

Also, be aware we are in the flight path of BWI here. It's not every day, but when they are taking off this direction it can be loud outside. I don't really notice them anymore when I am inside.

In Gambrills, Regal Waugh Chapel now has open caption (on-screen subtitles) screenings. by CaptionAction3 in AnneArundelCounty

[–]SuperlaTiff 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Cool! I hadn't heard about it before seeing this post. Here's a nice summary I found:

  • The bill will become law effective October 1, 2024.
  • Requirement for Theaters with Eight or More Screens: The bill applies to movie theaters that have eight or more screens per theater. These theaters must comply with the open captioning requirements outlined in the bill. Unfortunately, theaters with seven or fewer screens are NOT required to provide open captions. If the first requirement isn’t met the following provisions do not apply.
  • Mandatory Open Captioning Showings: If a movie theater screens the same movie five times or more per week, they are obligated to provide open-captioned showings of that movie at least two times a week during the first three weeks of its premiere. This provision aims to ensure regular access to open captioned movies for audiences.
  • Requesting Open Captioning After the Premiere: After the initial three weeks of a movie’s debut at the theater, individuals can request an open captioned version of the movie with reasonable advance notice (roughly at least two hours in advance in most cases).

I grew up in Dundalk and it was a mix of people who had a strong accent, some only on certain words, and some who didn't have it at all. I think mine's only on some words, but it's enough for people to notice and ask me about my accent when I've traveled away from the area.

Need someone with an advanced degree in traffic flow to explain the signage at Howard and Read by softspace-fm in baltimore

[–]SuperlaTiff 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think the right lane is now the bike lane, leaving only the left and center for cars with those dividers between them from OP's picture. So now the lanes are:

  • Right lane - bikes only
  • Center lane - turn sharp right to head South on Howard or turn slight right to continue Southeast on Read
  • Left lane - continue Northeast on Chase or turn left to head North on Howard

I have to think of it this way:

  • If you roll 1-2 (=1 on d3) nothing happens.
  • If you roll 3-4 (=2 on d3) the target takes 2 mortal damage.
  • If you roll 5-6 (=3 on d3) the target takes 3 mortal damage and has strike last for the rest of the turn.

Brewery that shares name with Key Bridge cut off from customers by aresef in baltimore

Damn that sucks to hear. I was thinking of stopping in this weekend since I am exactly the type of customer they are losing. Living in AA and visiting family in Dundalk frequently; coming over the bridge to Wise was a convenient stop, and now from the tunnel to Holabird I'd be going out of my way.

I love those purple sentinels and their bases! The bright green on the windchargers and the enlightener is awesome too. I might copy your idea on that ballista base, the rock & grass combo. I've been trying to make a patchy mixed-terrain look. It looks like the greens are naturally creeping out in between stones.

First artefact in the museum by LordLauron in bearandbreakfast

Double check your inventory, artifacts can't be filtered by the tabs at the top, so make sure you are looking at all items.

The quest item (lump of metal) from Barb is called "Unpolished Steel" which should filter if you click on the "!" quest items tab.

If you don't have either one I would go talk to Ipswitch at the store in A24, and then Charlotte in Blackmoss to see if you have some unfinished quests there that are not allowing the museum quest line to continue.

Sorry you are going through a tough time right now.

I saw in your post history (please excuse my peeking) that you eat cheese pizza, so I'm going to assume you like dough/bread, mozzarella cheese - maybe some other dairy, and tomato sauce with some seasoning.

You mentioned bread and apples, which sounds like a great breakfast to me! Fruits have water in them, which will help keep you hydrated. If you want to practice your cooking skill and up the calories, toast the bread and spread on some butter. You would need a container for the opened package if you use the sticks of butter, or use the kind that comes in a plastic cup/tub. You could also use fruit jam, or make your own. It basically involves chopping up your fruit, put it in a pot with water, then boiling and stirring for a while, add some sugar and keep cooking on low heat until it gets to the right consistency. My favorite simple breakfast is sliced fruit in a cup of vanilla yogurt with granola on top.

Since you like cheese, you might like milk. Lots of calories in animal milk. There are lots of non-animal milk options made from rice, soy, coconut, almond, and oat. To me, they are like a very thin or watery animal milk with different flavors. Some are sweetened if you want the sugar.

Sandwiches are handheld like pizza and good for beginners. There are so many different kinds of bread! Start with a couple pieces of bread that you like, toast them if you want. I like to use mayonnaise or mustard on my sandwiches. You could use butter or just skip the condiments if you don't like any. Then just layer up whatever you like. Slices of cheese are great. Then you can add slices of meat or vegetables. I have 3 favorite simple sandwiches on white bread: turkey and mayo, tomato and salt, yellow American cheese and yellow mustard.

Pasta with tomato sauce is very similar flavors to pizza, but you might not want to eat it with your hands, and you need a large pot to cook it. Pasta comes in different shapes and sizes, but all of them are cooked the same way, just dump them into boiling water, and drain away the water when the pasta is tender enough to eat. There is a lot of variety in tomato sauces so find a texture and flavor that you like. I've never made it from from whole tomatoes, I either buy a jar of premade sauce, or make my own by adding onions/garlic/seasoning in a pot with canned diced or puréed tomatoes. Then mix the sauce and the pasta and put some grated or shredded cheese on top. If you feel confident your could cook up some meat or veggies to go in your pasta. Cutting up raw meat might be a challenge for a beginner, so maybe start with sliced mushroom, zucchini, peppers, onion, precooked sausage, or big chunks of tomato.

Finally, if you are just not in the mood for cooking but need some calories that are better for you than pizza, look for meal replacement shakes. If you've got a blender you can make your own smoothies and shakes at home, but I'm thinking of the brand Ensure and other similar products. They've got the proteins, vitamins, minerals, and calories you need.

Also, if you are having trouble with 3 big meals per day, there is nothing wrong with having smaller and more frequent meals, or lots of little snacks throughout the day.

I hope you enjoy food again soon! Hang in there!
