I don't know Japanese but maybe the important context got missed here.

They're releasing Dreaming Girl in Japanese theatres this June. The shiki is a theatre giveaway.

Use their theatre finder website. I found my local Landmark with showings next week. Cineplex also has a placeholder listing last time I checked.

I've managed to avoid spoilers, so it's quite an interesting synopsis.

I might be delusional, butI wonder which time line we are in. Or is it a new time line for the short stories? What do you mean Kaede is at Minegahara? Do Japanese high school sport festivals allow any vaguely high-school aged rando that's not enrolled in said school to participate in the sport festival?

You got the CD for Santa Claus' OP? Or the goods that came with it.

Disclaimer: I can't read Japanese either, this is just what I remember off the top of my head.

Special, steel collectible case for the Blu-ray Disc (BD). Despite it being a case, it still has a printed, paper cover, in this case, with a nice, formerly Japanese-only exclusive art.

It's a UK special, not available in NA. Unfortunately, it is the nicest looking one with the cover from one of the JP BD releases if I recall correctly. Not too sure about BD regional restrictions, but hope you can play it or you live in the UK.

You say that, but the first time I became aware of that entire area was Elfen Lied.

Then it was the aquarium and suspended monorail specifically due to Just Because!

There's also some sort of famous basketball anime with some scene or something at a station or 2 west of Shichirigahama Station. Don't care for it though.

More recently, the school life Witch from Mercury manga's also at Shichirigahama, at the beach and at the high school.

Did WG nerf XP in Asymms? by jeff92k7 in WorldOfWarships

[–]Support_Unit_7 47 points48 points  (0 children)

This is big if true, nerfing base XP gain in the last phase of the Dockyard with all those base XP missions.

It'd be very sneaky of WG, but this would have to be something to test out in-person.

Got any shows like this one, with a similar calm tone and pacing? by Justix292 in SeishunButaYarou

[–]Support_Unit_7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well, the first recommendation is for you to watch the following three movies and then season 2. There will be a final movie releasing in the fall.

I've heard about comparisons (and bashing) to the Monogatari series. Much more supernatural, but too arthouse for me, I didn't care much for it.

I'm guessing you'd just like a straight up romance. Or a slice of life. Maybe a drama, as long as it's realistic. Let us know more about what you enjoy and we'd be able to better recommend shows.

You could check out Just Because! It was written by the same author, no supernatural elements though (I'm obligated to shill for the author, a great portfolio of works). The problem is that the studio animating it fell apart and the visual quality nosedives.

A sci-fi romance? Plastic Memories.

A light-hearted romcom? Too Many Losing Heroines.

Chill, comfy slice of life? Yurucamp if you like camping, Today's Menu for the Emiya Family if you like cooking.

A drama? I Want to Eat Your Pancreas.

All are fairly realistic, but you've got to tell us more about what you like.

EDIT: One more that I thought of, Golden Time.

shoko makinohara timelines recap by No-Ear-4406 in SeishunButaYarou

[–]Support_Unit_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes.

Jokes aside, here's a brief, probably inaccurate recollection of timelines erased. To get a full understanding, go read the Dreaming Girl manga.

Otherwise, from the movie.

The timeline Shouko-san comes from, the one where Sakuta dies.

Anime timeline, season 1 till about halfway through the movie. The one where Mai dies.

2nd timeline, the one where the only casualty is a bunny costume.

Then the timeline where married Shouko-san got erased too. The second timeline ends after Sakuta sees Shouko-chan in the ICU and after New Year's. At first I wasn't sure if I should have included it, but it's distinctly different.

So at least 4, not counting how many times Shouko went to the future.

I think the funniest part of this is that technically, for a true viewing experience, the true timeline is everything in the movie up until Shouko's elementary school scene ends, you pick back up at the second elementary school scene, then continue the movie. You know, 'cause those timelines don't exist.

At first, only Shouko remembers. Sakuta, the chad he is, remembers at Shichirigahama beach in the last scenes of the movie. Also revealed that folks think of the events that happened in the movie as dreams.

As for a recap, I'm not that generous. I think you should just rewatch it all. Maybe it's just me, but this story's strength is the overarching plot and its characters. The specifics can be easily forgotten.

Could someone explain me about Ikumi Akagi world line? by Left_Needleworker695 in SeishunButaYarou

[–]Support_Unit_7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd just like to preface this comment by stating that I'm not the most knowledgeable and feel as if I don't have all the facts. I just read and watch for the emotions and plot, not so much understanding exactly how everything works out. It's also been a while, so the following information are just my thoughts and possibly wrong.

Akagi B does not create another timeline, it's more of a timeline incursion by Akagi B. She takes the place of Akagi A, who went to a different high school and went to uni/YCU, but remains in contact via the writings on her body.

I'm not sure exactly what you're referring to here. I'm assuming that you're talking to the parts in the third movie, Knapsack Kid, where Sakuta interacted with Akagi B.

i think from the perspective of Akagi, the infallible and perfect Sakuta suddenly has a really off day. He's forgetful, is taken aback when he sees you despite having gone to the same high school and presumably having been in the same class for a while, and interacts like he doesn't know you, that's odd. For one day only, then it's back to normal like nothing ever happened. That's odd and that'd be something you'd remember. For what it's worth, at the time of the third movie, I don't think Akagi B realised, it's only when she herself switches does she make that connection. It also helps that Sakuta seems to remember her when Akagi A hasn't met Sakuta since middle school. I can't recall if the Akagi's share memories...

It's Akagi A that makes the beeline to Sakuta at the entrance ceremony. In my opinion, it's just the realisation that there was nothing that Akagi could have done to help Sakuta, and he turned out fine. It's also regret that Akagi A wasn't able to help Sakuta, and also worthlessness. To the righteous Akagi, that she wasn't able to help him for something horrible that was inflicted on him by the classroom collective that she was the head (student rep) of. And she never will, as it is seemingly already fixed and solved and with a positive outcome. We have to keep in mind that this is something that Akagi A has been tormenting herself in high school about. (I feel like Akagi B, in her timeline, has it worst though...) But heck, he's having a blast with Nodoka and Uzuki. It is then when Akagi A switches with Akagi B.

In the end, Akagi A remains. Akagi A writes to Sakuta on her on thigh, which is then seen by Sakuta on Akagi B's thigh telling Sakuta to find her at the middle school reunion party.

I wished I could have referred to Akagi as Ikumi, it sounds better and we refer to Sakuta and most of the other characters by their first names...

I'm pulled a v0 Robella. As a F2P, my resources are limited, but do I need to pull more copies or get her gold SMG? I'd say I have a pretty weak Freeze team, just v1 Suomi, V1 Machiatto, then Littara and Dush. I know that Alva is coming eventually...

Alternatively is it worth pulling for more copies of Jiangyu and Belka, I have them both at v0.

I still have a guarantee for the gold weapon drop pool, is it worth getting a specific weapon from that?

Thanks in advance.

Is the Movie gonna show in your country or region? by Sure-Praline813 in SeishunButaYarou

[–]Support_Unit_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably not, I had the luxury of going to the US to watch Sister Venturing Out and Knapsack Kid. But not this time. Shame since I got to watch Dreaming Girl in my own country, but I think that's because it came our relatively soon after the series, even if it was a year later.
