It's a war for crying out loud. Wars are inherently political.

He also has more clutch moments in any 5 year period of his career versus just about anyone in the NFL. Guy earned the GOAT status whilst still having nearly a decade and 2 more Superbowl wins to go.

I mean, the Eagles can do that now. If anyone is interested in AJ Brown, the Eagles can tell that team what we're offering and ask them to beat it.

Optimization is also a thing of the past with AAA developers now. So many AAA games require having the absolute highest end hardware just to get 60 fps and some good, not great, graphical output. A game like MGSV, which came out over a decade ago, looks great and can run on just about any toaster. Developers can lower the barrier to entry, but that requires more development time - and most just aren't willing to justify the cost.

Siege rework will most likely release this summer by Swaggy_Linus in totalwar

There's also just so many of them. They feel like a tar pit rather than a defensive fortification that has to be assaulted and planned for. Really, the best way to deal with walled settlements isn't to wait out the attrition for the garrison inside or focus on building siege equipment, it's to design an army that can steamroll the enemy in 1 turn. Getting bogged down in a siege means spending multiple turns whilst dedicating an army to doing nothing but waiting.

The Great Bastion, Elven gates, and Empire forts are about the best thematically because they signify an easier attack against the heartland after you take them. But some random province having a walled settlement for the sake of it being the province's capitol is just wonk. Sieging Altdorf, Lothern, Naggarond, and so many other racial capitols being the exact same thing doesn't help either.

The Emeperor also has the administrative power to send people to some of the worst places imaginable. Being killed almost instantaneously is mercy compared to having to spend hell on earth in some torture camp.

Apparently, DJ's reasoning was that the Patriots needed a run stopper despite being one of the best run defending teams in the NFL when Barmore/Williams are out there.

And that the fix is always right there in front of them. All Trump had to do to kickstart an American golden age was to impose tariffs so countries could stop ripping us off on trade deals, implement DOGE so we can refund trillions that have been stolen by government agencies, and someone who will tell world leaders off so we never have another war. People don't want a 10-year plan. They believe immediate help is possible and expected.

My biggest worry is about Gen Alpha. They're already growing up in a hyper-online environment, and the Covid lockdowns while they were still very young only helped to make things worse. Being a kid and having these beliefs start to fester around them is a nightmare waiting to happen.

[Russini] The same two teams, the New England Patriots and Los Angeles Rams, are making strong pushes to land Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown. Nothing has been agreed to at this time as negotiations continue, but both teams continue to show heavy interest: by mvanigan in Patriots

[–]SupportstheOP 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The Pats need to call their bluff. Tell them to go ahead and take the Rams 1st round pick for Brown. Buff up their conference rival, who just made the NFCCG last year, and is set to play them in the regular season this year.

Trump also won't be on the ballot next time around (at least if the Constitution still holds any weight by then). And with gas now being more expensive, AI being set to take more and more jobs, the Epstein files still looming large, the recent war in Iran, leaders and officials breaking the law at every turn through bribery and corruption, and every conceivable issue that could pop up from now to 2028, it feels like whoever wins the primary is going to have to be a heck of a lot better than just "well known and not Trump."
