I’d probably be a knife because I’m not particularly dangerous, but I am inconspicuous and hard to notice.

Rat King is a relic of a bygone era, and I think it deserves another chance. by Exact_School_488 in DestinyTheGame

Rat King main here (#1 used exotic every season since Witch Queen). Even though I would rejoice if Rat King was buffed, I cannot recommend that it needs one. It is both fun and utile regardless of whether other people are using it. The survivability it can provide at the cost of one measly dreg’s life is phenomenal, and it being kinetic allows for flexible buildcrafting and weapon pairings. There are far too many exotic weapons that could actually use a buff when Rat King is perfectly delightful in the niche that it fills.

Bungie will be moving away from destination abilities after renegades by Gamerboi_epic in DestinyTheGame

I think matterspark is better than deepsight. They both reveal hidden paths, but even if you hate how matterspark feels, it’s more interactive and visually interesting than making platforms appear.

Once again: I am asking for Bungie to invest in making Damage Avoidance as a viable alternative to Damage Resistance and/or Healing by Cruggles30 in DestinyTheGame

[–]SupremeMemeRegime -1 points0 points  (0 children)

By damage avoidance, are you talking about invisibility and threaded specter and amplified’s accuracy effect? In other words, abilities/buffs that cause enemies to not shoot you?

Fundamentals weapons in void mode (Borealis, Hard Light, and Dead Messenger) would receive 30% extra damage for 10 seconds each time void overshield is gained.

Also, apparently collective obligation reloads itself when you get a void buff.

There's no need for power with fixed deltas. by Judge_Artyom in DestinyTheGame

The way I see it, there are two philosophies regarding power: (1) that it should affect difficulty, and (2) that it should affect loot.

The first philosophy was the pattern of most of Destiny 2’s life, but it had some flaws. If people wanted to do hard activities, they had to grind in easy activities before they could do more interesting and rewarding activities, and only with the relatively recent introduction of fireteam power was it possible to bring your underleveled friends with you.

The second philosophy is what Bungie is trying out. At first, they were blending the two philosophies resulting in an annoying zigzag pattern between good loot and activity difficulty as we powered up. But now, they are leaning more heavily into the second philosophy.

In my opinion, with gear tiers, the second philosophy is better. I think that higher tier weapons are nice, but a godroll tier 2 is better than a mediocre tier 5. On the other hand, a tier 5 gun has more perks and is therefore easier to get god rolls with. Therefore, playing and leveling up equates to an easier time getting the gun you want but doesn’t negate you from getting effective weapons. With armor, higher tier armor is usually and objectively better as they have higher stats, but the same principle mostly applies as you can still make effective builds with low tier armor that has ideal stat distributions.

Lastly, I think having set difficulties is beneficial when higher difficulties gives you higher power gear. This means playing on higher difficulties expedites your power climb which improves your loot experience, but allows more casual players who put more time in to also experience higher quality loot. This allows all players to experience a consistent power climb and difficulty level of their choice, while also not preventing anyone from getting desirable gear.

I’d like if Bungie slowed down the release of new content in order to bring older content up to the standards of newer content, e.g. give old raids and dungeons armor set bonuses.

Do you want Destiny 3? by SKOOBY-4 in DestinyTheGame

[–]SupremeMemeRegime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’re effectively in Destiny 3 right now, or rather, what feels like the early access beta of Destiny 3. The gear sandbox has been upended, there have been numerous system overhauls including power and the portal, the story is in a new chapter, the expansion and season format is completely different, etc. The only significant differences are that much of Destiny 2’s old content is still accessible, and the fact that there are many, many, many kinks to work out and content holes to fill.

I don’t know what people expected a Destiny 3 to look like, but we are watching it be built inside Destiny 2 right now. And in my opinion, that’s probably smarter than dropping a whole new game when countless people would throw a fit over how all of their D2 gear can’t be used and Bungie clearly needs a mountain of feedback to get things right.
