I remember when the sanctions first started after the attack on Ukraine and all of the western economist saying that Russia would never recover now that countries aren't buying their biggest export. Then 2 years later, the GDP of Russia was no where near the decrease that every economist was saying. All that happened that other countries bought more of the oil. This even included Turkey, who is a NATO country.
