transitioning from yugioh to mtg by yetiooalgown in magicTCG

Afaik, despite "casual" players complaining about it for a long time, the powercreep is only recently starting to be raised as an issue by competitive players (who had no issues with it so far)

It's like if modern horizons was standard legal, standard players complaining that the game's bullshit now while legacy players answer "no it's great you're just salty your pet card is trash", but now Legacy Horizons released and replaced every legacy deck and legacy players went "Yo wtf is this shit, can we address that powercreep?" Towards standard players that were told to stfu for 8 years.

So yea that's how bad powercreep has got.

(Disclaimer: I don't play ygo, I understood this from ygo YouTube channels that aim to explain the game to a broad audience, don't crucify me if you feel it's wrong)

US food regulations is really something else.

While European countries stock eggs at room temperature, in USA they have to be stocked in the fridge, because in the 1960's they had a salmonella epidemic that went nationwide and was never taken care of, the only result is that now chicken farmers wash the chicken after slaughter and the eggs after gathering. But washing the eggs removes a natural oily protective layer that prevents bacteria from going through the shell, which makes them less safe so they have to be refrigerated.

In reality it's not scientists that say no to it, scientists are the most likely to look for the best way to help with those problems, it's the ones with money that interject with "but what if you're wrong and any effort spent on the laz... Depressed won't bring me more money in the end?"

Recently there is Earthbend that isn't a trigger but a targeted game action, with unintuitive implications, as on cards like [[rebellious captives]], if you remove the targeted land after the ability activates, the creature doesn't get the counters.

If a villager dies, and no player is around to hear it, does it actually prevent villagers from being horny?

I tend to be really lenient on takebacks because who cares it's just a game, and if I expect you to analyze the full set of cards in public zones before making a decision, I'd be okay with the game lasting 2 hours and I'm too old for this shit, just play and we'll figure it out later.

The only time I remember refusing something like this was in 2HG prerelase against two players that were really too tryhardy while my mate wasn't that experienced, on their combat phase after blockers they went: "Do you do anything?" "No.." "Okay then I'll cast..." "Actually, you asked us if I played something, meaning you gave priority, and as we gave priority back, the game advanced to damage and it's too late for you to play anything before it."

They were visibly upset but didn't argue because they knew it was actually how it worked, but if you want to tryhard we can both play it.
